Should I relocate to Hickory, North Carolina? I currently live in Vermont but am thinking about relocating to North Carolina next year with my family. We hear nothing but good things about the state and now we just have to pick a city. We were thinking about the Hickory/Winston-Salem area. I'll need a job in x-ray so nearby hospitals are a must. Do you think these cities will be good ones to move to? Any pros/cons about these places or other suggestions would be a huge help!
are there any companies in north carolina willing to accept applicants with a felony? i have a drug conviction from a few years back & i have been clean since then. i am a registered nurse and so far have been turned down by 27 hospitals. i applied for a few non-nursing positions and still was not hired. i need to hear from other people with convictions or the people that do the hiring. being honest and explaining the circumstances has gotten me nowhere, so please don't respond saying that people "will understand" i really need to work and would be happy at any old retail job, a grocery store, a home improvement store- whatever. just need a paycheck!

Leaving the scene of an accident in North Carolina? My brother was driving down a dark road one night and a deer jump in front of his car. He slammed on the breaks, missed the deer but ran into a telephone poll. Someone gave him a ride to his sisters house because his head hurt and he doesn't have insurance so didn't want to go to a hospital. He developed a major migraine, and decided to call a tow truck the next day. By the next day, his car was gone! He left the scene of an accident but he was sick! Does anyone know what the penalties are for this in NC?

I also would like to be around a slightly higher populated area for things to do and for employment for myself. We just dont want to move in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do is all. Any suggestions where to go? Thanks

Can you be charged with a dwi in north carolina if you weren't even driving.? i was riding my motorcycle with a girlfriend when she panicked and crashed. She doesn't have a motorcycle license. It was assumed that Iwas the driver. I had been drinking but I was definitely not the operator. I was hurt and hospitalized. I woke up in the hospital with a dui ticket and I was on the back seat. Any suggestions? Should I turn her in? I'm scared she'll go to jail for leaving the scene and no license. Then again, I'm scared I'll go to jail as well.
Where in North Carolina..? would you recommend for me to move too? I will be in the medical field so i will need somewhere with a hospital in town or one in another town close by. I would prefer to live on the east coast because i love the beach. i like the small town feeling, so no big cities but not a country country place where there's nothing there and a very low population. So based on what i wrote, is there any good towns on the east coast of north carolina that you would be suited for me?
Where would I find the email address for Hope Mills Police department in Hope Mills, North Carolina? On February 10, 2005,My boys' father tried to beat me to death with a broken chair leg. It is by the grace of God that I am alive today. I have my two boys with me now and we are all doing well! I left that night in the pouring down rain an I walked 2 miles on my feet with only socks to cover them to the nearest public place, a WalMart were I tried to call the boys' grandmother who lived near by to go get my two boys that I had to leave with their father who had just nearly beat me to death in order to live and have any chance at being a mother to mytwo precious boys in the future. The boys' grandma(the boys' fathers Mom) refused to go get my two frightened little boys who had to be laying in their bed to scared to even attempt to move. I nearly passed out while on the phone with her! I hung up as I deeply sobbing, but I knew and trusted God for their safety! A manager from WalMart called an ambulance for me. I was taken to the hospital and reports were started. HelpMe, Please

north carolina vs south carolina. help me find a nice place? I live in cleveland, ohio and im sick and tired of this weather! Who knew someone would leave an entire state because of the snow! I have lived here for 20years and im sick of this snow. Last year i stepped out side to shovel my driveway and the snow literally came up to my knees i started screaming and literally throwing a tantrum about how i hate my socks getting wet and how i was going to be late for work because my car was snowed in! so im considering moving to either south or north carolina very soon! i don't know anything about either so if you could give me some advice that would be great. I want something that is not too close to the water because i don't wanna deal with the hurricanes and not too far cuz i do wanna take my family to the beach. I don't know what 125,000 will get me but that's my limit for purchasing a home with at least 3bdrms. Also my hubby NEEDS to have a man cave so we would need a finished basement is that possible to find in either states? I want some city life i love peace and quiet but not too quiet so i need to be either in a city or very close. also im a dental hygienist so i would need to be close to hospital's and dental offices. we have a 6 yr old so a good school system or private schools would be nice. do either states have a problem with flooding if so what cities in particular dont? i know i asked for alot so if you dont know every answer thats fine. also please try to be thorough dont leave responses like "there both nice!" also if you know any neighboring states that meet my criteria use those instead to answer my questions Thank you soo much
NORTH CAROLINA- IS THIS LEGAL? my cat got out a while ago, and she was in heat and i wasnt gonna let her get pregnant and there were males outside waitin on her so i went out and set my trap for her and she actually came up near me instead and i knew she wasnt vaccined and so i went to put her in the trap and we were gonna take her somewhere else, like to the shelter. cuz we were thinkin she was probly pregnant. (is probly pregnant.) SO, when i went to put her in the cage, she snapped on my finger and the teeth pretty much scraped against my bone- i was exposed to rabies, possibly. there was a rabies case down the road and a woman got bit. i immediately went to the animal shelter and asked what to do, and they wanted me to fill out a bunch of papers and file a report and stuff but i didnt have time (i was bleeding everywhere and my finger was swelling more and more) so the guy sent us to the hospital instead. the cat waited in the car while i got checked out, freaking out cuz i didnt want them to euthanize her for it, so i was told to wait for the rabies shots until we knew for sure that she had it (but shed been exposed to it 12 hours before me, so i didnt really see the point, anyway) they told me to go get antibiotics before it went to blood poisoning like i had before, and i didnt have the money, and so we went to this cheap pharmacy, had to buy half the antibiotics, and then waited about a week before we came back. 5 days actually. the five days that the cat had been in a room, alone, in our house, away from our other cats (who are vaccinated and neutered. the ONLY reason she hadnt been all fixed up was cuz we are VERY low on money and i could only fix ricky the last time i went to the special clinic) so on the 5th day, the shelter called us, threatening to send my mother to jail cuz the cat wasnt in quarantine. we ran to the shelter, asking them to quarantine her, which they WOULDNT. we waited and waited and they got worse and worse about it cuz we dont have no money and they EVENTUALLY gave us a number to a cheap vet 20 miles away so we went and we had her quarantined those 5 days. my mom is the only one workin (was the only one) and now has lost her job, and i went to work my season in illinois, they are in north carolina, where its happening, and they started threatening my mom cuz shes kept the cat in there for extra days, cuz we didnt have the money up front. so it got to be more and more, and my mom and the grandkids barely ate, and they keep calling, and calling, and then finally they call her up and say that in 72 hours shes goin to jail for 6 months on charge of a misdemeanor on cause 2 or something like that, and the thing is- she just LOST HER JOB, is MOVING BACK TO ILLINOIS, RIGHT NOW, im staying with my sister, its been 30 days EXACTLY and we owe 270 now, and they barely have money to come back to illinois, we will be living in a HOTEL. i wont have my first check (not enough anyway- like $150) and every day i work, theres another charge on for the fee, and she only has 72 hours now and we dont know if they can really do this. my mom called the shelter (animal) and they said they didnt care if none of us had jobs, if none of us had food, if none of us had shelter, they said they wanted the cat out in the next 72 hours or shes GOING. this is all my fault and now i dont know what to do cuz i dont see how i can catch up to that amount at my work and we dont even get paid but once a WEEK. my first check of the season wont even come in the next 72 hours. and this season SUCKS and we probly might not make but $500 this year. i wouldnt mind living OUTSIDE, or anything BUT my mother going to jail all the way in NC when were moving back. theres no way wed make it. literally. my sister dont even want me here and my mom would like never get up the money after the 6 months. i wouldnt be able to go to high school, my stepdad would leave her, he would be homeless, our dogs ( theyre like my KIDS) would be gone somewhere, is this even legal for them to do that? would they really take her to jail? what can i do? im under age (15) so i have not much of a choice but to do small things and collect up or somethin.. my moms the last one almost that i can live with. i dont know what ill do. i would live outside and just wait, yeah, but then what about my dogs? and my cat? someone would take ricky, but buddys been with me for 8 years, and im not about to lose him.. or my 2 dogs ashley and rex. theyre all vaccined and fixed. except ashley cuz shes prety much a baby..
north carolina question?? please help? Where would you recommend i should move to in North Carolina with the description i'm about to give. I would like to move to a small town, along the east coast of the state would be best, that has good land features (lakes, oceans, etc..), that has some stores, hospital, and stuff of that nature in the actual town. i was raised in the military and moved all over, now i'm ready to just settle down somewhere great. If you know of a place that is close to my description let me know where. thank you. ooh and please serious answers, i really am looking for a great place. so if you have something smart to say please keep it to yourself
North Carolina Law - is there a time limit on filing a claim? Is there a time limit on filing an injury claim if you were in a car accident that wasn't your fault in North Carolina? Such as in heavy traffic and it was stop & go and you got rear-ended by someone? The person was going abt 10 to 15 miles. I was the one that was at fault and the person I hit said she thought she was ok. She was walking around making phone calls. When the sheriff got there, he asked if anyone was injured and we all said no so no one went to the hospital. We also didn't need tow trucks b/c the cars were drive-able. I didn't get a ticket b/c the sheriff said that no one was really at fault and that it happens all the time on that highway, especially when everyone is going home from work. My insurance agent said they don't like to give tickets unless it's really warranted b/c the court system would be so clogged up. Does anyone know if there is a time limit on such things? Yes, I know I was at fault and feel terrible about it. The sheriff even wrote it on the report. I think what he meant was that my type of accident happens a lot on that road b/c of road conditions. I still should have been paying better attention and also not have been so close to her car. The other 2 drivers were very nice and we all stood around talking while the sheriff wrote the report. If there are injuries relating to the accident, I want my insurance to pay for it and help those people. What I am afraid of is that someone might tell them they could make $$ by claiming they were hurt. In North Carolina, attorneys mail people about their services after they are in an accident. Even if you get a ticket and there was no accident, you'll get letters from lawyers. It's been 2 days & I'm finally calming down abt it. I don't want anyone to be hurt b/c of my bad driving. And you're right, the limitations are 3 yrs.
Chances of getting into Ncssm( NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND MATH)? I am currently a sophomore and would like to know my chances of getting into ncssm. Well first of all with the SAT scores, i hope that the school realizes that there are people who are not very good test takers, and are just too slow, and also they are from a different country so their English is not very good. So what did i get?? A 1580 :"( Well my gpa is a 4.0, i play basketball, track and tennis. I am an active volunteer in about all of the clubs in my school, i hold very few leadership positions but i am a orator and also director of a dance program. I volunteer at the hospital, and shadow with the chiropractor every Mondays since medicine is my passion and dream. So not going to further oh and im 3 or 4 in my class. Well what do you think can i get in?? Ok lets take a look at the competition This girl scored a 2080 on the sat, number 2 in the class holds significant amounts of leadership seats, really really active with church, plays 1 sport tennis, active in the band and choir, plenty of extra curricular activity. The teachers love her and a strong application ok some. We both are in pre-calculus and are doing better than the upper classmens. Oh and also my basketball team is the number 1 in the state for 1a schools 22-0 is our record. Girl number 2. HaHa i AM JUST GOING TO RULE HER OUT, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE LIBERTY TO SAY THIS HONEY WITHOUT HARD WORK YOU DONT ACHIEVE A THING, SO STOP DEPENDING ON 1 THINK YOU HAVE AND THAT WOULD BE THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A MINORITY. Boy 1. From Other School but little bit lower than me but higher SAT scores. So it is just us 3, we are in Congressional District 1 of North Carolina composed of about 15 or so counties. Also do i hold a chance of getting in?? And i don’t expect to do highly well on the discovery day exam, i SUCK at taking test, but i am diligently working on it.
Moving from Columbus, Ohio to North Carolina? I've been looking into moving to North Carolina for a few months now. I visited Durham back when I did track in the summer (ten years ago. My roommate has a biology degree but, currently does clinical lab work. How hard would it be for them to find a job in their field? I've been keeping an eye on jobs at Duke hospital but, wanted to know if its a good place to work? Does anyone suggest applying for jobs before moving there or after wards? Where would be the best place city, area to live or neighborhoods? We are hoping to not pay more than 900 for rent, but diverse. Any other advise anyone has please let me know.

How can you subpoena an complete police report from the sheriff,s dept. in North Carolina? I've went to the sheriff's department twice asking for a copy of a police report that was filed on 2-13-07 with Rockingham county sheriff's dept. concerning abuse of a 3 year old boy that I was a whitness to. The mother of the child admitted to abusing the child and told the deputies at my house that she had done it but she had went to the hospital for it and now she was on medication for it. A Rockingham County North Carolina Sheriff's Department detective continues to tell me that they can not arrest the mother simply because she admitted kicking him, poking him in the chest calling him a stupid baby and droping him in mid air on purpose. Now that I have told the detective they needed to do something about the abuse reported on this date. He also claims to have never gotten a picture of the childs hand burnt that I have proof I gave his office. The only part of the report I can get reads ( SEE ATACHED PAGE. ) They say BY LAW they can't give me the full report. Is this true? The child had been living in our home for the past 3 months when this happend. The mother had checked herself into a hospital in Danville, Va. and stayed apx. 1 week and for the next 2 months continued asking to take her child back to Virginia. Me and her mother both told her that if she came to North Carolina and tried to take the child back to Va. We would not let her take the child without the sheriff's dept and we would file a report against her when we knew she was back in North Carolina. This decision was made after she admitted to a long history of abusing the child when she got mad. We have now filed 2 police reports, 2 reports with child protective services and provided multiple statements to the police. Aswell we have provided the sheriff's dept. with a picture of the child's hand burnt, They know there is a hospital record at Danville Regional Mental Ward. And she has admitted it. What more does it take to have something done about a child being abused? Thank you to all who have answerd this question. It realy helps to know some of the things that are being posted. The main purpose of the sudden concern is because about 1 week ago the child's uncle whitnessd the mother push the child into a coffee table because he would not stop playing with drinking coasters. The child has a large bump on his head. It has been reported to child protective services but we expect the same response as before. Probably like last time they will sweep it under the rug and out of sight as quick as possable.

Susan Kim- A.K.A Susan Caldwell from North Carolina did you forget to take your Zoloft? Everyone knows your history that you went to a hospital, cuz you went coocoo few years ago. Why in the world are you having an affair with a married one? Did you think that Jeremy Owens from Murfreesboro Tennessee will leave his nearly 1 year old wife with a stepson for you for your revenge? You are really coocoo. You need to check yourself! You're a disgrace to all Korean folks and to your 2 children!
Escrow in North Carolina.? I spent sometime in the hospital and got $846.46 behind in my mortgage. In that time they put me in escrow. I am new to buying a house and this is a foreign language to me. I have paid the $846.46 I was behind. Am I still in this escrow? How can I get rid of it? And anything else you can think of I need to know I would appriciate it.
Medicare question for North Carolina so I don't loose my inheritance? My father moved in with me not even a year ago. He is on Medic aid / Medic care Plan B. He is a dibetic and he takes a lot of medicine. He is 76 years old and I am in my mid 50's. I work 12 hours + on a shift. He has a little less than an acre of land with an old run down trailer on it. My disabled brother lives there while my father is with me. My brother pays no rent. A few days ago my father had a stroke and he can not talk well, but he is getting better and he is home from the hospital now. Medic care said he would have to sell his land or sign it over to them in order for him to get care, but the land is my inheritance. What can I do to make sure they don't take my inheritance away from me and my father can still get help. I can not afford to pay for his care, so we both depend on medic care to help. I left messages at legal aid and no one has called me back. I do not have power of attorney yet & my father will be getting a living will later. Thanks to all
Does the Do Not Resuscitate Order in North Carolina prevent a hopsital from administering oxygen? My grandfather had a 2nd stroke and his oxygen level dropped to 70. He is prescribed to be on oxygen every day of his life. He signed a DNR so the hospital is refusing to make him keep the oxygen on or let anybody in the room. I can only find information pertaining to OHIO. Anybody have any idea how the NC laws work? According to the hospital, they are keeping all the lights off, tv off & no visitors in hopes he'll kind of forget what's going on & leave the O2 on. They normally make him wear his oxygen when he's in the hospital, whether he likes it or not, for some reason, this hospital (not his usual hospital) is saying he doesn't have to because of the DNR he signed. I didn't think that had anything to do with O2 tho. He is also quite confused. Doesn't know who his family is.

Where is a nice place to live in the northern part of North Carolina? I live in a small town in Pennsylvania. I would say there are less than 2,500 people in the town that I live in. We only have one gas station & a hospital. I haven't had any luck in finding a job up here (I'm a certified professional coder). I like the low cost of living here, you can buy a nice house that you won't have to fix up for $50,000. The house next to my parents went for $15,000 and it didn't need any work. The town is quiet and not much crime happens here. I don't like living in the mountains b/c of the winters, I hate snow. I would like to move further south to avoid such cold weather. The problem is I don't know where to begin looking & I would like to live in a small town, with a good school, & not have to deal w/a lot of crime/violence. Where I live you can leave your windows down in your car w/the keys inside & not have to worry about anybody touching it. Does anybody have any suggesstions on where to move?

Does anyone know of any "work at home" jobs that actually work? My husband got hurt in Iraq recently and I am constantly going from Bethesda, Maryland to the hospital, back to North Carolina where I live. We need extra money to pay the bills but It's also important to me that I am able to be with him in the hospital in case something bad happens. It would be really nice to be able to do something on the road. I keep finding these "work at home" programs but most of them seem like a load of crap. If anyone knows of anything that they know for a fact works... I would love to hear about. Thanks.
What do you think about my story? >This is just a couple of the first paragraphs.... “Eagle Eyes” “Help” I use every last breath to screech out that one single word. I shuffle around the cold floor, even though my hands and arms are bound with thick rope… trying not to make to much of a clatter, he might hear me. The rope is cutting into my leg as I roll into a more comfortable position. Then, I wonder to myself… is this how I will die? Certainly not! I quickly assure myself. I turn around abruptly, there he is staring at me… his eyes reach mine… I call them “Eagle Eyes.” Then, suddenly, bang…. A bash to the head…. I slowly drift into sleep. “Robyn, can you hear me? Robyn.” the doctor shines a light in my eyes. “Dad? Where am I?” I open my eyes and find my self in a small room at the University of North Carolina hospital. I look outside the window and an eagle is staring right at me. “Your fine, you’ve just had some cuts and bruises.” my dad tells me. I can see the fear in his eyes. “She should be fine in a couple days Mr. Sharp… I assure you.. It’s nothing serious.” the doctor winks at me as he explains the situation to my dad. Well I can assure you, that it is serious. I am petrified at what will happen next… “I’ll leave you two alone.” the doctor walks out with a grin on his face. I look towards my dad. “The doctor said they found you on the side of a road down by Chapel Hill?” my dad glared into my eyes. He was the type of guy that would ask a single question and can get the whole story in one minute. You see, my dad was a detective at the North Carolina Crime Scene Investigation. He was the best they had. My dad and I live out by Dunham in a two bedroom ranch. My mother disappeared when I turned nine years old. About six years ago. She also worked for the North Carolina Crime Scene Investigation. No one knew what happened to her. Some people say she’s half way across the globe, others say she abandoned me. I know neither can be true. My dad learned to forget about that kind of stuff and realized that I was important now. He couldn’t back down. Over the next couple of days, I began to feel better, at least physically. It was probably the dozens of drugs they had injected into me. Apparently there was a large count of lead in my blood. I threw on a tee shirt and got ready for my evaluation, just to make sure I was ready to leave. No one knew what had happened before I was found. “Hello Ms. Sharp! How are you today?” my psychologist, Dr. Eyes asks. “Fine.” I quickly reply. Dr. Eyes had helped me recover during the loss of my mother. She was also my mom’s best friend. Dr. Eyes… I’ve always thought it was such a peculiar name. TYPO > The city is really Durham not Dunham. By the way, I am open to all criticism! I love it when people give me suggestions. So if you hated it, feel free to say so. I'd rather have the truth.

If a nurse in a nursing home is being investigated, does the hospital have to tell her why or what it's about? My mother works in a nursing home in North Carolina and recently a patient went "beserk" (her own words). He was kicking, fighting, screaming obsenities. Nurses on his hall called for help and my mother, on another hall, came to their aid. She helped to restrain the man (abiding all hospital procedures). Later that night, the same thing occurred. They placed him in a Geri-Chair and set him out in the hallway. Another nurse attempted to put the patient back into his room, but my mother told the nurse to leave him in the hall. (His episodes took place when he was unrestrained in his room.) A couple of days later, my mother got a call saying that she was under investigation, but they will not tell her why or what it's about. Is this legal (on the part of the nursing home)? Can anyone provide any helpful websites/sources about this matter?

Im 16 pregnant my boyfriends 20 can he go to jail? I'm 16 pregnant and my boyfriend in 20. My parents never have had any problem with us being together. I will be 17 when the baby is born and he will still be 20. I want to be able to tell the doctors he is the father because we want his name on the birth certificate. We are both afraid if the hospital at the time of the birth knows he is the father and is 4 years older than i am will have him arrested. Does anyone have advice or experience in a situation like this? p.s we live in North Carolina.

Can I get into UNC Chapel Hill? I am a High School Sophomore in a North Carolina high school (so I am in state). My current GPA is a 4.25, but I have done the calculations and if I get A's in all my classes next year I will have a 4.7 (I regret slacking off a little this year and my freshman year, but have only recieved 4 B's and am taking all honors classes and 4 AP classes next year. I am in the Key Club, Treasurer of SADD Club, Non-fiction editor of our school literary magazine, captain of my homeroom, and sophomore class representative for our school's business alliance. I am in a community service club outside of school and volunteer frequently at the local hospital. My mom, dad, and my sister went to UNC Chapel Hill and my mom gives a lot of money annually to the nursing program (if that counts any). I am very passionate about writing and know that my essays will be above average; I have not yet taken my SATs but am hessitant to say I will score above average. I plan to apply early admission senior year.
Is a restrictive endorsement against a Collection Agency a legally binding agreement? I'm a 25-year old recent college graduate who had to make a hospital visit last year without medical insurance. I lived in North Carolina at the time and made payments on my bill for every statement received. After 3 months, the hospital was unwilling to work out a monthly payment plan and I simply couldn't afford to pay the bill in full. I moved to Georgia last month and found that the hospital turned over the remaining $900 of my balance to a CA. With the advice of a friend, I sent a check to the CA for $300 and on the back of the check scripted "For all oustanding balances." The CA processed the check and it has cleared my bank, complete with the acceptance stamp for the endorsement on the back. Can the CA come after me for the remaining balance? Or did they legally accept my check as full payment for the entire balance? I have yet to receive any other correspondence from them since, however it has only been a few days. Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Medicaid Expenditures For Recent And Undocumented Immigrants Is This Our Tax Dollars At Work? The correct title for this article is, "Trends In Emergency Medicaid Expenditures For Recent And Undocumented Immigrants." The population is comprised of "undocumented' and legal immigrants (less than 5 years) living in North Carolina for the years 2001-2004. This population can receive Medicaid reimbursement only for "emergency" services. The data is for Medicaid reimbursement and does not include those medical services provided through other sources--primarily hospital emergency rooms and other care centers who do not attempt to collect from Medicaid. About 48 thousand individuals received care under emergency Medicaid services. 99% of the population was "undocumented" and 93% were Hispanic. 95% were female and 89% in the 29-40 year old age group. Emergency Medicaid Services represented less than one per cent of total Medicaid expenses. Over the four years such costs increased 28% but overall costs for Medicaid in this time frame increased 35%. The actual, dollar cost for Emergency Medicaid Services in 2001 was 41.3 million and for 2005 it was 52.9 million. Childbirth and its complications accounted for 82% of the Emergency Medicaid Service expenditures and 92% of all hospitalizations. Over the four years seniors and the disabled, however, had increased costs.
Workers comp?? Should I sue or not? I fell at work, no fault of my own. SOmeone from the janitorial staff mopped the floor and did not leave up a sign, I hit the floor really hard. I have intense swelling in my hand, they say that it is not broken, but the swelling will not subside. I type with one hand well, so thank goodness. Then next day I had intense swelling in my ankle. THe pain in my back is horrible, I have a huge bruise on my shoulder and butt. I work for one of the largest and well known hospital systems in North Carolina (country). I really do not want to sue, but I am hearing lies from other people now, they are trying to cover thier butts. I just want them to help me to get better, cost for medicine, and doctors. My paycheck. With understanding that I am in pain and stop trying to rush me back to work. Only have been out one day. Everyone is telling me to sue the hospital. What do you think? So use to putting in Love and Romance sorry. Yes, I filed a claim immediately after it happened in the Emergency Room. THe "boss" says, I knew that we were in trouble when we saw your hand. Many people were around her when she said it.

I live in a bigger city than Jacksonville, but the job market is really competitive. I'm looking to get a start in Medical Administration, but haven't had any luck here. I'm semi familiar with that area. I know the cost of living there is pretty high. How are the schools? I'm a have a 5-year old. Do you think that living and working in that area is good? I understand medicare will pay 80% but that leaves 20 % to pay. My main questions are: What is the cost of this operation? If someone has under gone this type of sugery, How many days in the hospital, and quality of life after? North Carolina is the most likley location for this operation. Recent nursing school graduate needs advice about career move from SC to CA? I have just recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and am awaiting to receive my authorization to test (ATT) to take the NCLEX-RN. My dad's family is from California and have mentioned the idea of beginning my career out west. This is something I wish to do for at least the first two years of my career. However, I am unsure whether or not I should apply to hospitals within the LA area without the traditional face-to-face interview, and I'm afraid not doing so will lessen my chances of becoming a future employee (all job offers I received in both North and South Carolina required an interview). Or, is it better to become licensed in SC and then apply? Just to mention, I thought it would be easier to apply for the Californian licensure upon moving since it's not a Compact State. Lastly, is working nights the best shift for recent grads?

Is this DISGUSTING,or what? Hispanic Birth Rate Soars. Taxpayers stop hospital bankruptcies! Posted on Wednesday, August 09 @ 15:27:18 UTC Topic: money campaigns cost illegal immigration Hispanic birth rate soars in Southeast Hispanic births are skyrocketing in the Southeast, where an increase of at least 40 percent was recorded in five states between 2000 and 2003, according to a new government report. Topics: illegal immigration, birth rate, Hispanic, Mexico, Mexican, costs, money, hospitals, taxpayers, medicaid, bankrupt 8/9/2006 The Associated Press Atlanta Among the states with the largest increases were Kentucky (80 percent), South Carolina (62 percent), Alabama (53 percent), Tennessee (53 percent) and Arkansas (40 percent), the report found. The report, from the National Center for Health Statistics, is called the first state-by-state breakdown of birth and fertility rates in the U.S. Hispanic population. U.S. births for non-Hispanic whites decreased 10 percent between 1990 and 2000, and 2 percent between 2000 and 2003, the report showed. Births for blacks declined 9 percent and 5 percent, respectively. In contrast, births for Hispanic women jumped 37 percent between 1990 and 2000, and another 12 percent between 2000 and 2003. But there were differences in birth and fertility rates among Hispanic sub-populations, noted Paul Sutton, an author of the new report. "Hispanics are not a monolithic group. There's a tremendous variation" in births among women of Mexican, Puerto Rican and Cuban origin, said Sutton, a statistician and geographer with the National Center for Health Statistics. Mexican-Americans had the highest birth rates overall, followed by Puerto Ricans and Cuban-Americans. Mexican-Americans gave birth in their teens and early 20s at higher rates, while for Cuban-Americans, the highest birth rate was for women in their late 20s. And while California and Texas continue to have the largest Mexican populations, North Carolina and Georgia had the highest fertility rates for Mexican mothers. In North Carolina, there were 181 births per 1,000 Mexican women ages 15 to 44 in 2000. In Georgia, the fertility rate was 180 per 1,000 Mexican women. In contrast, the U.S. fertility rate for Mexican-American women was 105 per 1,000. California's was 112, and Texas' was 124. It's not likely Georgia or North Carolina will soon surpass Texas or California in Hispanic births: In 2003, nearly 270,000 babies were born to Hispanic mothers in California and 183,000 in Texas, but 18,000 in Georgia, 16,000 in North Carolina, and 5,000 or fewer in most other Southeast states. But the relative increase in the Southeast states is notable, and may have implications for health-care facilities and state budgets, particularly if some or many Hispanic families are uninsured. WakeMed _ a 515-bed hospital in Raleigh, N.C. _ saw Hispanic births rise from 463 in 1997 to 1,819 in 2005. Hispanics account for about 36 percent of the births at the hospital. Most years, more than 90 percent are Mexican, said Dr. Juan Granados, who trains obstetrics residents at the hospital. Only about 3 percent of the families have health insurance, he said. Fortunately, the state provides a special Medicaid payment to help offset such unreimbursed care, he added. "So the hospitals don't go into bankruptcy," said Granados, a University of North Carolina professor of obstetrics and gynecology and maternal and fetal medicine. In the past, most Hispanic mothers were part of migrant farm worker families who came to the Raleigh area for part of the year and then moved on. But lately, many Mexican families seem to be staying year-round, with men taking jobs in construction and landscaping, Granados said. NOTICE only 3% have insurance! That means taxpayers are stuck with the bills!
Does anyone know where to go for this? I am pregnant and I went the other day to a pregnancy help services place. And I go back for a mamogram too see how the babies doing. Whats really good, cheap health insurance? I need good health insurance that covers everything from medications to doctors visits to dental. I need it cheap though. My father left my family and since the child support and everything stopped, it's just my mom and I. She gets insurance through work, but still can't afford to put me on it with everything we pay on. We went for financial help and they said that she makes to much for anyone to help us. I'm just really worried i'll get really sick one day and then we'll have a ton of doctors bill or even hospital bills to pay. I live in North Carolina if that helps. I honestly have applications in everywhere, but no one will hire me, I have experience and a high school deploma, otherwise i'd have benefits or be able to pay for health insurance on my own. Any ideas? Thanks.

Minnesota has been among the top two states since 1990. Vermont is ranked second this year and has consistently moved up in the rankings for the last five years. New Hampshire is number three, followed by Utah, Hawaii and North Dakota. Mississippi is 50th and the least healthy state, while Louisiana is 49th. Tennessee, South Carolina and Arkansas complete the bottom five states. Minnesota is first this year, a position it has held for 10 of the 16 years since the 1990 Edition. Minnesota’s strengths include ranking first for a low rate of cardiovascular deaths, a low premature death rate and a low percentage of uninsured population. It is also in the top five states for a low percentage of children in poverty, a low total mortality rate, a low infant mortality rate, a low occupational fatalities rate, a low rate of motor vehicle deaths and a high rate of high school graduation. Minnesota’s biggest challenges are a high prevalence of smoking at 20.7 percent of the population, a high prevalence of obesity at 22.6 percent of the population and limited access to adequate prenatal care with 75.8 percent of pregnant women receiving adequate prenatal care. Mississippi is 50th this year, down from 49th in the 2004 Edition. It has been in the bottom three states since the 1990 Edition. The state ranks well in all three health policy measures: 8th for access to adequate prenatal care, which is available to 81.8 percent of pregnant women; 11th for per capita public health spending, at $197 per person; and 14th for immunization coverage, with 84.0 percent of children ages 19 to 35 months receiving complete immunizations. It ranks in the bottom five states on nine of the 18 measures: a high premature death rate, a high infant mortality rate, a high total mortality rate, a high rate of cardiovascular deaths, a high percentage of children in poverty, a high prevalence of obesity, a high rate of motor vehicle deaths, a high occupational fatalities rate, and a high number of limited activity days. It also ranks in the bottom 10 states for two other measures. Table 4 lists the score and ranking for each of the 50 states. Scores presented in the tables indicate the percentage a state is above or below the national norm. For example, a state with a score of 20 is 20 percent above the national average for that component. A negative score means the state is below the national average. When comparing states from year to year, differences in score are more important than changes in ranking. My father is a veteran and is in the hospital...? He had a stroke and no one found him for 3 days. His ex-wife went looking for him when he didn't show up for work and called 911. They took him to Pasco Regional in Dade City Florida which I do not beleive is a Veteran's hospital. This means he will have to pay, right? I live in North carolina and am his next of Kin. I am his only child and am leaving in a few hours to head down there. He has been in the hospital 4 days today, since monday. Does he need to be transfered to the VA hospital in Tampa when I get there? I don't know what to do. His vitals are ok and he can move everything but he is just very confused as to what happened and for a while was seeing people who were not there (ie: me, but I am in NC and his mother who passed last summer)... This is so much so fast and I am unprepared... what do I do when I get there? (besides convince him it's time to move where he has family who cares) PS, I just found out about this yesterday. No one was able to find my number or contact me because all I have is a cell phone. His ex wife's 13 year old grandaughter got the idea to look for me on Myspace after 3 days of him being in the hospital. That's why I am just now leaving! I am not a bad daughter :) Dad is 63, almost 64 (june)
Thinking about writing a book about my brother. What do you think as a begining? Letter to Tyler Category: Writing and Poetry I am so afraid, afraid of forgetting your smiling face, forgetting the sound of your wonderful laugh. The thought of not remembering you just sends chills down my back and just makes my heart shatter into a million pieces. It gets harder as the days go on and as the months turn into years I'm always told "you will never forget" but the memories just become fainter. I never will forget that you were my brother but I'm still scared, scared of forgetting the memories. All the memories just start to mesh into one as time goes on, to were I can only remember 3 instead of 100. Except that one…that one memory, the one that just wont leave my mind…like a bad record player that keeps repeating itself. The one memory of me having to see you just lay there looking like you were asleep, but not hearing the slow soft sound of your breathing or the steady beat of your chest moving up and down. The one memory of knowing you would no longer be able to smile or laugh or cry ever again. Some days that's the only memory in my mind and I cant remember any of the happier moments. You were my big bro, my go to guy, who I knew would always be there for me or be there for a laugh and a smile. Of all the memories that I could remember, I cant, all I can remember is that one, just that one day, the day were my life, my world changed indefinitely, July 12, 2003. I will always remember you and I will never forget, but I'm still afraid, afraid of forgetting everything about you, that one little freckle, that beautiful twinkle in your eye, or those natural highlights in your hair. Four years one month and 15 days is when it happened. When mom woke up finding you laying there pale and hyperventilating . When I came into the room a minute later from hearing mom scream for help I was so scared, I couldn't handle being in there, I was scared of the way you looked of the way you were breathing, just of everything about you. I practically ran from the room. I remember daddy being on the phone, calling for the ambulance while mommy was brushing your hair with her fingers. I tried so hard to stay in the room with everyone, but it was just to hard to see you like that. I remember holding Misty while escorting the EMT's into your room. I stayed close to mom, she made me feel a little bit better. After hearing her rattle off all of your medications, they brought you out strapped to the stretcher. They told us you would be fine, the had us give you a kiss and said you would be back later. We had no idea. Daddy followed the ambulance to the hospital. Me and mommy stayed home. An hour went by, finally some news. Daddy told us that your breathing had finally calmed down and you were being brought into X-rays, he said he would call back soon. Another hour went by, mommy started to get worried, we called the hospital. Finally someone came on the phone, "How fast can you get here?" . The rest was a blur…screaming, crying, racing to the hospital. When we got there daddy was waiting for us outside. His face stained from tears. As they walked us into the hospital, I was confused and naïve I thought maybe just maybe you were still alive and you were just in a coma or something like that. As I finally walked into the room and they pulled back the curtain, I knew something just wasn't right. You looked so peaceful as if you were sleeping, but there was no breath. Still I was naïve, I gave you a hug, and then mom sat down next to you and held your hand. Still I couldn't stand it and I left the room, and went outside. Next thing I knew a nurse was calling for me, daddy wanted to see me. They pressed the button and the doors swung open, there was dad just standing there as if he knew I was next to walk through those door. I ran into his arms, all I could say was, "I don't want him to die, I don't want him to die." and then the words I was dreading and the ones I was denying slipped from his lips, "He's gone". The whole world started to spin and I just didn't want it to be true. How could it be true, you were my big brother and you were always suppose to be there for me. For one last time I forced myself back into the room were your body lay so peaceful…you still had color in your checks. Mommy, daddy and I stood over your body with the hospitals pastor, who said a beautiful prayer for you. For the last time in my life I gave you a kiss on the forehead and a brush on the arm…I was to scared to give you a hug because I knew you couldn't hug back. To this day I wish I stayed longer even if it was just 5 minutes. Driving away from the hospital was the hardest thing ever. You were in my mind the whole time, just the thought of not having you as a brother was slowly breaking me down until I couldn't be broken down any more. I went into denial, I couldn't believe that you were gone, it just couldn't of been true…it was just a horrible nightmare, but unable to wake up. I stayed in denial the rest of the day, even though I was calling all the family to let them know you passed. Lynda flew in from North Carolina to try and help out the family, people were constantly coming over with gifts or to just clean the house. People doing dishes, people doing laundry, someone was vacuuming at one point. So many people in and out of the house, there was no time to think. That night I slept, and when I woke up in the morning you still weren't there. And the next morning and the next. As the days turned into months and months into years it never became easier that you were gone, and still 4 years later it's not any easier. I will always love you big bro and hope you are happy being free and able to do all the things you could never do. I love you. Love, Lil Sis
What do you think about Law Enforcement in Onslow N.C? Urgency of Search for Marine Questioned By MIKE BAKER – 3 hours ago JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — For months after a pregnant 20-year-old Marine accused a colleague of rape, her family says, she continued to work alongside her attacker and endured harassment at Camp Lejeune. In the weeks after she disappeared, they believe, the sheriff's department was slow to act. As authorities recovered Maria Lauterbach's remains Saturday from a fire pit where they suspect Marine Cpl. Cesar Armando Laurean burned and buried her body, her family asked why authorities didn't treat her case with greater urgency. Naval investigators on Saturday said the pair had been separated on the job, a rape case was progressing and Laurean was under a protective order to stay away from Lauterbach. And Onslow County Sheriff Ed Brown insisted his department acted as best they could on the facts available. "As soon as it went suspicious, we contacted the media and asked for help," Brown said. "The case did not produce enough evidence, other than she was just missing." On Saturday, her burnt remains, and those of her unborn child, were excavated from Laurean's backyard. "As well as I could see, the body was much charred," Brown said. "The fetus was in the abdominal area of that adult. ... That is tragic, and it's disgusting." Authorities have issued an arrest warrant on murder charges for Laurean, 21, of the Las Vegas area. They say he fled Jacksonville after leaving behind a note in which he admitted burying her body. In his note, Laurean wrote Lauterbach cut her own throat in a suicide, but Brown doesn't believe it and challenged Laurean to come forward and defend his claims of innocence. Authorities have described a violent confrontation inside Laurean's home that left blood spatters on the ceiling and a massive amount of blood on the wall. County prosecutor Dewey Hudson said Laurean had been in contact with three attorneys, including Mark E. Raynor, who declined to comment Saturday. Lauterbach disappeared sometime after Dec. 14, not long after she met with military prosecutors to talk about her April allegation that Laurean raped her. Her uncle, Pete Steiner, said that Lauterbach — stung by the harassment that eventually forced her to move off base — decided to drop the case the week before she disappeared. Paul Chiccarelli, the special agent in charge of Naval Criminal Investigative Service at Camp Lejeune, told The Associated Press on Saturday that Marine commanders submitted requests in October to send the case to the military's version of a grand jury. A military protective order had been automatically issued in May and renewed three times. "Anytime there is a sexual assault allegation involved, that's a standard routine," he said. Lauterbach and Laurean served in the same unit of the II Marine Expeditionary Force, and court documents indicate Lauterbach's mother told authorities Laurean had threatened her daughter's career. Steiner said Saturday on ABC's Good Morning America the Marines didn't separate the two personnel clerks, but Chiccarelli said Marine commanders assigned them to separate buildings on May 12. Neither Brown or Hudson would say Saturday if they would have treated the case differently had they known about the protective order, which they discovered Friday night. Chiccarelli said sheriff's office investigators were told about the order on Monday. But Chiccarelli again said investigators didn't consider Laurean a threat to Lauterbach, or later a flight risk, because they had indications the pair were on friendly terms. He declined to detail those indications on Saturday. Lauterbach's mother reported her daughter missing Dec. 19 — five days after she last spoke with her. By that time, she had been placed on "unauthorized absence" status by the Marine Corps. "Several steps were taken to contact her via telephone, cell phone, even in person by sending Marines to her residence," said II MEF spokesman Lt. Col. Curtis Hill. "At that time, there was no reason to believe anything other than she had voluntarily placed herself in an unauthorized absence status." Hill said that Lauterbach also left her roommate a note saying she was "going away" and apologized for "the inconvenience." An Onslow County Sheriff's employee contacted Naval investigators Dec. 19 after hearing from police in Ohio and listed her as a "missing person at risk" in a national law enforcement database. He met with Lauterbach's roommate the next day, but court documents indicate he was unable to reach the Marine officer who had been notified of her absence, as he was away on holiday leave. The employee checked ditches along several highways for her car, and asked the State Highway Patrol and several area hospitals if they had had any contact with the missing Marine. None had. He left word with the department radio room to contact him with any developments before leaving Dec. 22 for a vacation. Steiner said he and his sister, Maria's mother, told authorities they planned to fly to North Carolina around the Christmas holiday, but were advised not to because authorities believed Lauterbach was headed for Dayton. Believing that authorities "dropped the ball," Steiner said the Lauterbachs eventually decided they could no longer wait. They flew to North Carolina and met with detectives Monday, the same day court documents indicate authorities first discovered Lauterbach's ATM card had been used by a white male on Christmas Eve and she missed a prenatal care appointment on Dec. 26. Brown also learned about the case Monday. A series of search warrants were filed, and the case went public and he asked for help. By that point, it was too late. Laurean refused to meet with investigators, and eventually skipped town before dawn Friday without telling his lawyers where he was going. Associated Press writers Estes Thompson in Raleigh and Jim Hannah in Vandalia, Ohio, contributed to this report
Question about severe headaches....? My cousin is 35 years of age. A year or two back, she was mugged and essentially the mugger hit her with his pistol. After that, she started having headaches. They get to the point where she has them approx. every week and a half to two weeks, it looks like she's got two black eyes, her eyes swell shut, she doesn't know where she is, who her family is. She actually thinks she still lives in North Carolina (where she used to live when she got mugged), when we live in Ohio. She also gets severe nausea and she gets EXTREMELY mean when she's in one of her headaches. When she goes to the hospital or waits it out for a few days, she's back to her usual happy-go-lucky-sweet-as-can-be self until the next one hits. When she comes out of it, she can't remember anything that happened during that time period. Does anyone know what this is? She's been to UNC hospital, Duke University, all kinds of hospitals trying to figure out what causes these. Any help would be appreciated.
How can Obama state this? Obama said,"drying up gas tax collections would batter highway construction, costing North Carolina up to 7,000 jobs, while saving consumers little." Does he not realize the roads will not matter without traffic on them, but people who already need to buy gas to travel to hospitals or work will hurt more. Everyone can go around a pothole or slow down which will save fuel anyway, but they cannot feed their children without work and may lose their job if they can't get their. NC will lose only a small percentage of road funds and other states may have the same needs. Prioritize the needs and issue the grants to the most dangerous roads. This shortage of funds will not affect summer work and that money is already gained from previous months. States can add tolls to high traffic roads if need be. He is not priortizing needs correctly.
What Does Illegal Immigration Cost? When George W. Bush visited the U.S. Border Patrol’s Yuma Station Headquarters in Arizona Monday — for the second time in a year — his message on illegal immigration sounded a bit tougher than in the past. “Illegal immigration is a serious problem — you know it better than anybody,” he told a group of border agents. “It puts pressure on the public schools and the hospitals, not only here in our border states, but states around the country. It drains the state and local budgets…Incarceration of criminals who are here illegally strains the Arizona budget. But there’s a lot of other ways it strains the local and state budgets. It brings crime to our communities.” The president touted his get-tough-on-the-border policies, enacted under pressure from the then-Republican Congress, and singled out Operation Jump Start, under which National Guard troops assist border agents. But he also stressed the need for “comprehensive” reform, and when he did his message sounded like the George W. Bush of old. “Past efforts at reform failed to address the underlying economic reasons behind illegal immigration,” the president said. “People are coming here to put food on the table, and they’re doing jobs Americans are not doing.” With those words, the president was revisiting the great question in the debate over illegal immigration: Is the presence of illegal immigrants, mostly from Mexico, a boon to the U.S. economy, or a drag? It’s a question that has long divided Bush supporters; the Wall Street Journal editorial page tells us that a lenient immigration policy is absolutely vital for American prosperity, while enforcement-first advocates tell us a strict policy is the only thing that will ensure continued economic health. Both have plenty of statistics to cite to make their case. But now a scholar at the Heritage Foundation, Robert Rector, has found a new and revealing way to get at the answer. Rector has just published a study, “The Fiscal Cost of Low-Skill Households to the U.S. Taxpayer,” that is ostensibly not about immigration at all. He takes the most detailed look yet at the economics of the 17.7 million American households made up of people without a high-school degree. With numbers from the Census Bureau, the Congressional Research Service, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and other government agencies, Rector found what they make, what they spend, and how much they receive in government services. The reason Rector chose to look at low-skilled workers is that it is estimated that nearly two-thirds of illegal immigrants fall into that category. (By way of comparison, slightly less than ten percent of native-born Americans are in that group.) By focusing on those workers, Rector was able to make use of information on them that is more detailed and precise than information on immigrants as a whole. And any conclusions he reached would be applicable to a large majority of illegal immigrants who are already in this country as well as those who would come here under various immigration reform proposals. Rector began by calculating the dollar value of the benefits those low-skill workers receive from the government. There are direct benefits, like Medicare and Social Security, and means-tested benefits, like food, housing and medical benefits specifically for low-income people. Then there is public education, along with population-based services like police and fire protection, parks, and roads. (Those services benefit everyone, and their cost usually increases as the population increases.) After that, there is interest on the public debts, a burden spread throughout all income groups, and the cost of what Rector calls “pure public goods” — national defense, scientific research, and a few other areas — which benefit everyone but do not necessarily rise in cost as the population rises. Rector found that in 2004, the most recent year for which figures are available, low-skill households received an average of $32,138 per household — the great majority in the form of means-tested aid and direct benefits. (Rector excluded from that figure the cost of public goods and interest; with those included, he says, each low-skill household receives an average of $43,084.) Against that, Rector found that low-skill households paid an average of $9,689 in taxes. (The biggest chunk of that was the Social Security tax — $2,509 — followed by state and local taxes, consumption taxes, property taxes, and federal income taxes, but Rector counted everything, including highway levies and lottery purchases.) In the final calculation, he found, the average low-skill household received $22,449 more in benefits than it paid in taxes — the $32,138 in benefits, excluding public goods, minus the $9,689 in taxes. Taking that $22,449, and multiplying it by the 17.7 million low-skill households, Rector found that the total deficit for such households was $397 billion in 2004. “Over the next ten years the total cost of low-skill households to the taxpayer (immediate benefits minus taxes paid) is likely to be at least $3.9 trillion,” Rector writes. “This number would go up significantly if changes in immigration policy lead to substantial increases in the number of low-skill immigrants entering the country and receiving services.” From a purely money perspective, it’s a powerful argument. At a cost of $22,449 per household per year — well, multiply that by an adult lifespan of 50 years and you have an average lifetime cost to the taxpayer of $1.1 million per unskilled worker. Increase that population with a wave of unskilled immigrants, and you’re talking a lot of money. There’s probably room for argument on Rector’s exact numbers. Jeffrey Passell, a senior research associate at the Pew Hispanic Center, questions whether some of Rector’s cost estimates might be too high. For example, the arrival of new illegal immigrations will likely not raise the cost of defending the country, he says, so perhaps future immigrants will not be quite as expensive as Rector claims. (Rector tried to address that issue by excluding the cost of pure public goods in the $22,449 figure.) Still, Passell does not question the basic premise of Rector’s report. “One of the purposes of our government is to provide support for people on the low end,” says Passell. “Of course there is a bit more spending on households on the lower end than on the high end, and of course the low-income households don’t pay as much as the high-income households. That’s not surprising.” The bigger argument over Rector’s approach is whether illegal immigrants bring economic benefits that outweigh their undisputed costs. Tamar Jacoby, an advocate of comprehensive reform who is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, points to a study done recently of immigrants in North Carolina which estimated that in the past ten years Hispanic immigrants had cost the state $61 million in benefits while being responsible for more than $9 billion in economic growth. “Yes, the individual might cost more in services,” says Jacoby, “but they are growing the pie so significantly that that cost pales in comparison.” Not so, says Rector. “The problem is, the growth to the pie that they make, they eat,” he explains. The economic growth reflected in the numbers, he says, is what the immigrant workers are making. “To the extent that they make the pie grow any bit more than what they take out of the pie in wages, it is very subtle, and it would be a tiny fraction of the gross domestic product growth,” Rector says. And that means something for the immigration debate, and for George W. Bush’s proposals. “Every one of these [reform] bills envisions bringing in millions and millions of additional low-skill immigrants with the right to access welfare and become citizens,” says Rector. “Within ten years, you would have four million of these individuals, each of whom can bring family. You’d be looking at a cost of $80 billion per year.” Perhaps Congress and the president will decide to do that. But if Robert Rector is correct, no one should underestimate the cost.
Donating??????? My friend and I are doing a service project where we make stuffed animals (we have been sewing for 6 years and are very experienced.) We don't know where to donate them. Maybe a shelter where moms and children go when they are abused. We can't do hospitals because they might carry germs. We want somewhere where not a lot of people donate to. Please help us think of some places. Thank you! P.S we live in North Carolina
