How clean ARE our hospitals?
I know that the hospitals need to be kept clean to prevent infections, but really, how clean are our hospitals? (and the hospital's air.. I heard that patients usually develop pneumonia inside hospitals)

- They're filthy. I work in one. You're BEST bet is to wash your hands often and correctly (30 seconds with vigorous rubbing).
- Legend,my dad was in the icu after a bypass operation,he contacted pneumonia,and.... :(
- Remember hospitals are full of sick people and people who have visited them. Even every surface was disinfected everyday there would still be germs; believe me they are not cleaned everyday. The best way to protect you and your loved ones are as already suggested wash your hands or use a hand rub. My hospital has alcare foam outside every door. Also remember pneumonia doesn't always come from outside germs it can have cause such as aspiration and secretion build up. When the doctors and nurses make you get up and around even though you don't feel like it they are trying to prevent things like pneumonia and blood clots.
