2. I gave birth to all three of my children at Rush. The maternity staff were excellent! I raved about them to everyone. You should take a tour at any hospital that you are considering. Also, if you are using a midwife or doula, ask them who they prefer. I'm sure they have favorite hospitals that they like to work at.
3. You're lucky, because there are so many good hospitals in the Chicago area. My sister-in-law is a nurse and gave birth to my two nieces at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The new Prentice Women's Hospital just opened. As others have suggested, take tours and ask lots of questions.
