Medical Malpractice

Where could I get a job in Chicago as a Licensed Practical Nurse?

I am moving to Chicago after I finish nursing school around Thanksgiving. I want to experience city life, so I would like to live in the Chicago metro area. In Michigan where I live however, most hospitals don't hire LPN's... just curious if Chicago may be different! Thanks in advance for any help.

  1. Yes! Chicago is very different, and there are a shortage of nurses and this will continue as the population ages. You can apply at the many hospitals in Chicago, my favorite hospital is Northwestern, they are top of the list for the best care, and advances in the medical field. There is University of Chicago hospital, Russ hospital, and the list goes on. Go to yellow pages.com and do a search for hospitals in Chicago. Most hospitals have open house for hiring, go and take your resume. You can also look for jobs in the Chicago Tribune. Chicago's newspaper, Sunday edition will have the most job listings. Go to Chicago Tribune.com The nursing field is a great field. Best Wishes and Welcome to Chicago!
  2. You could apply for jobs and post your resume online on some of the major job websites like Hotjobs,Monster and Careerbuilder. You can also search for jobs and post your resume on Craigslist. You could also search for jobs on websites like Simply Hired and Indeed. More information available at http://tinyurl.com/emdyn
