- There is a shortage of Nurses in the US due to government controls and regulations. We need nurses and especially with Massachusetts requiring health care and possibly the next president...there will be a crisis. It is perfectly normal for hospitals to pay for school in this day and age.
- You would have to ask the hospitals if they would sponsor you. When I took classes to become a CNA, the nursing home that I would later work at, paid for the classes for me. Some facilities will do it- some won't. It's worth it to ask them, personally.
- Most hospitals offer tuition reimbursement after a period of time working there which is usually about 6 months. This is when you pay for whatever class you are taking and after you pass the class they refund you up to a certain amount of the money in return. Some facilities offer other types of programs where they pay you a full time status paycheck while you work part time and you owe them that time in return but again that's after working at the facility for a period of time. I don't know of any facilities that pay your school first, it's usually a tuition reimbursement scenario.
