- well that was still a year ago even if she was tested you should have her go get tested again and see the results, thats a long time............... when you are talking about YOUR health too.... I was never told the results of any tests so i dont know which were done. I was told they would test for HIV and I asked the results of that and was confirmed negative.(and that was the OB, they drew blood at my first pregnancy visit)
- Yes, I had a blood test for each of my pregnancies. They need to test for STD's, because if the mother does have one, the doctor needs to take precautions during childbirth and during the pregnancy. They pretty much tested for everything for me. But mind you, that was a year ago for her. I would feel much better if they were a month ago.
- They didn't test me for all that stuff, because I said no. They do routinely ask every woman if she'd like to be tested (maybe some places just do the tests without asking, I don't know), but I know I wasn't at risk for any of them. The only blood test I had was to check my blood type, and then later on I got an infection. The antibiotics didn't help it, do they drew blood to figure out exactly what kind of bacteria was causing the infection. And I seem to recall having my iron levels checked, but that was after he was born. But even if they did test her, and she came back completely clean, if you suspect that she may be at risk for ANY std's, don't risk yourself. Those tests were a year ago, and something may have happened between now and then if she (or any of her partners whithout her knowing about it) have engaged in risky behavior. If you don't know this girl well enough to be sure that she has no chance of an STD, then don't have unprotected sex with her.
