Dirty hospitals?

I had the misfortune to stay in hospital. The cleaner came onto the ward took a paper towel and wiped round the sink. then he swept the middle of the ward and left!!! I think that hospitals should employ their own cleaners and bring back matron to supervise. What do you think?

1. That is a good idea seeing as how hospitals are supposed to be clean and sterile.

3. I worked at a hospital for seven years and we employed our own housekeepers, they are not much better, they were so understaffed it was unbelievable. I worked at a major health system on the west coast and in my opinion the conditions where unacceptable. The only time they took the time to ensure cleanliness was when we had our inspections, which we were warned way in advanced to ensure we passed. There was actually a few rooms where they hid stuff they knew they would get in trouble for and as soon as they left we put the items back out for use.
