Why should I work as a cardiologist at a VA hospital?

What are the benifits? (not healthcare, but I mean the good things) Is pay much lower than at a regular hospital?

1. By asking this question I would have to assume your not in medical school nor anywhere near being a doctor. You shouldn't do it for the money or the diverse patients!
2. It seems to me the primary benefit is helping our veterans. Pay grades should be public, look around on the net to find the scale. Pension benefits should be excellent. That would be online too.
