What did patients wear in asylums in the 19th century?

I'm trying to establish what the patients in a victorian asylum, near the end of the 19th century, would have been wearing. Would it be whatever they happened to arrive in? Or was some kind of clothing issued? Any help is greatly appreciated!

1. they usually wore gray hospital type clothing- the kind that docters wear
