How long do you have to be in North Carolina in order to be seen at a Veterns hospital?

I have family that does not live in north carolina but will be moving here soon and they need to be seen at a veterns hospital but some say that they have to be here for a year or more in order to be seen.. is that true???

1. No, all that is required is for the patient to be a veteran. The V.A does not cover entire families,just the ones that are veterans.
