Should I relocate to Hickory, North Carolina?

I currently live in Vermont but am thinking about relocating to North Carolina next year with my family. We hear nothing but good things about the state and now we just have to pick a city. We were thinking about the Hickory/Winston-Salem area. I'll need a job in x-ray so nearby hospitals are a must. Do you think these cities will be good ones to move to? Any pros/cons about these places or other suggestions would be a huge help!

1. Hickory is a relatively small, quiet town. Friendly people!! Beautiful are as well. Winson Salem is a pretty fun little city. Decent music scene. There are three hospitals (I believe) in close proximity.
2. I live in North Carolina and I am a recent graduate of Radiography and I want to warn you that I'm not sure about other states, but in NC it is difficult to find a job. I don't live around there, but I have been trying to find a job anywhere in the state and the pickings are slim! There are a few hospitals around there, so you should probably try to find a job first before you move!
