do new york city hospitals drug test applicants?

i have to go for a required physical at one of the new york city run hospital in order to get my job. they told me there will be blood work involved and i cant think of any other reason they would need my blood except for a drug test. does anyone work at one of the nyc networked hospitals business department and know if they use the blood for drug testing?

1. im sure they do...they can also test for any communicable diseases you may have it is after all a physical
