Can anybody give an understandable explanation as to why failed asylums seekers are not being deported?

  1. Too expensive to catch and transport them. Plus the officials are afraid of violating their human rights.
  2. Because New Labour supporters would scream that the Asylum Seekers were being badly treated. They much rather prefer to see them cleaning toilets and sweeping the roads...basically doing the jobs "we don't want to do".
  3. NO. Are you sure you've got the right link? I did hear that it costs a fortune to get them as far as the airport, but then they throw a 'wobbly' and the airline refuses to take them on safety grounds. I don't consider that an understandable explanation as there has to be an alternative such as the heavy sedative you'd get if you did that in a mental hospital or police station.
  4. Of course it is fully understandable, this is England, enough said?
  5. Yes. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/11/20/nasylum120.xml It says in the link that you meant to provide. "The Government claimed the reason for the drop was that officials were concentrating on deporting foreign criminals and illegal workers." It is up to you of course if you want to believe that or not!
  6. ? The pc brigade again - "he/she will be unhappy there!" Does any Department actually know who and where these people are?
  7. Because the country is goverened by spineless greedy C***'* Is that clear enough
  8. the doors have been left open . if they are deported they will stroll back in. this country is a free for all. dont fight it . just leave it to 'em and go. well ok maybe not you personally but im going . ive had enough.
  9. The same incompetence that has seen the government losing the personal data of 25 million people...
  10. It would be far cheaper just to use cargo planes and deport hundreds at a time - that would cut down cost and fuel emissions! Eco-friendly and all that....
  11. Poor Government. The people running the country are hopeless. Everyone is happy because they vote for parties other than BNP. If you want it sorted, start at the polling booth. I've always voted Tory, must be dead from the Adam's apple up if you vote Labour, but maybe BNP should have a go. Lets be honest, they couldn't do any worse than Labour.
  12. coz they cant remember which 5* hotel they left them in
  13. New claimants are processed quickly, and Immigration do a reasonable job of removing those whose claims are refused. The main problem is that for many years (under both Labour and Conservatives) the Home Office was under-resourced for dealing with all aspects of Immigration. Foreigners can't vote, and therefore making people wait five or ten years for a decision about their lives was not considered to be a problem. This applied mainly to asylum-seekers, but also to various other groups. They also had a policy of (eventually) refusing people knowing full well that their own policies stated it was too dangerous to return people to countries like Somalia; perhaps half of the refused people now here are people who Immigration have no plans to send back; many of these people continue to sign monthly at Immigration offices, rather than being underground. These are people who should originally have been given temporary or permanent asylum. There has recently been a change of policy (unannounced, as usual), where the Home Office now tries to make the correct decision at the outset, rather than trying to find any trivial reason to refuse. This is the background to the Case Resolution Exercise, which will eventually see all the old cases either given some sort of status, or pursued for removal. Speaking from years of experience, I can say that things have completely changed in the world of asylum; it's still wretched, but at least it's more logical and efficient now.
  14. Because this country is a joke. Everyone laughs at us, New Labour wont be happy till this is a Muslim theocracy.
  15. Because they would have to put some effort and thought in, to do that. And that is something our "government" won't do. They would rather fiddle with their pathetic interference laws than do something that might be beneficial.
  16. no
  17. Perhaps they are awaiting an appeal. Yes - even foreign people have rights!
  18. Because of the Labour govt's STUPID laws, stupid targets and initiatives, STUPID POLICIES, and the fact that all those bloody foreign govts won't give us docs to remove their nationals. It's utter shite.
  19. BECAUSE THIS IS SOFT TOUCH BRITAIN!!!!!
  20. i dont know what the hell is going on, but i know that you keep testing the publics patience the way the government is, one day its going to snap - and it wont be good, for anyone. Unless our government starts getting some balls and doing what people want, you'll see a party come to power that make the BNP look ultra-liberal. I think germany had something similar in the late 30's. What were those guys called???
