What are some good horror movies set in abandoned old hospitals or asylums? ?
The kind of movies with creepy atmospheres, long dark hospital hallways with peeling paint, wheelchairs, etc.

- Session 9 (takes place almost entirely in daylight, but it's still really creepy) House on Haunted Hill
- Boo (2005) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0385560/ Dark Asylum (2001) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0224626/ The Dead Hate the Living! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0225481/combined Death Tunnel http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418627/ Fragiles~soon-to-be abandoned except for a few patients http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0422272/ Incubus (2006) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462359/ Room 6 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451187/ Session 9~I agree! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0261983/ About "Death Tunnel": This film was shot on location at Waverly Hills Sanitorium in Louisville, Kentucky. The five-story structure is listed as one of the Top Ten Scariest Places on Earth, due to the 63,000+ deaths on the premises. Bodies were carried through the 500-foot underground "death tunnel" to their final resting place. About "Session 9": The movie was shot almost entirely in the abandoned rooms and halls of the deserted Danvers State Hospital. NOTE: "Bedlam" does not take place in an abandoned asylum. It's about St. Mary of Bethlehem asylum, at which such neglect and abuse were common at that time. Also, "Gothika" has a functioning asylum and isn't abandoned. Perhaps I'm confused about what you want.
- Rose Red. Stephen King movie need I say more?
- The House on the Haunted Hill is the most commonly known, but if you want to go really deep into some good classics, I would suggest: Horror Hospital (British) Dr. Giggles The Dentist Asylum (1972)
- House on Haunted Hill....the new one The Jacket Bedlam...Boris Karloff (1946) Directed by Val Lewton Don't Look In The Basement (AKA The forgotten) Gothika Return to house on haunted hill Identity Asylum(2008) Ditto for the superbly atmospheric Session 9
- Halloween 2 Okay, it's not exactly "abandoned", but there are very few people there, and those who are there get killed.
