What will happen to VA hospitals and care for our vets if McCain (cont)?
takes a hatchet to the budget rather than a scapel like Obama proposes. (Asked in Y/A Politics section, but Y/A won't post)

- I'm a vet and my wife is and she works in a military hospital; so we don't look forward to what will happen if McCain is elected.
- McCain is a vet, what he said is he would be willing to take a hatchet to the stuff that is not working in the budget..he never mentioned VA hospitals at all, I'm thinking that those would not be touched in cutting the budget. What I believe he said was he wanted to freeze everything right away and then put the hatchet to work. I don't think I want to wait for the scalpel I think it will take too long and nothing will get done.
- well by your question, I he takes a "hatchet" to the budget then health care will suffer for vets. Bush has already cut benefits for national guard in the past. Thanks
- Vets and troops support Obama. 60% of troops serving the country right now have donated to Obama
- McCain may be a vet but he has voted against veterans 26 times. So yeah, I don't really want to find out what would happen if he gets elected.
- McCain said he wont cut VA programs
- Remember all the stuff we saw going on at Walter Reed? Look for more of the same. That is what McCain has historically voted for, It was Dick Cheney who called the VA a big Welfare Scheme. That is how Republicans think!!
- THIS HAPPENED TO MY VETERAN HUSBAND AND HE DIED THE VA WOULD NOT TAKE HIM THOUGH HE WAS A VETERAN BECAUSE OF UNDER FUNDING THANKS MCCAIN FOR NOTHING
- he loves reagan and reagan and him going to do it to us again if we let him in the white house http://www.dailynugget.com/2004/06/ronald_reagan_t.php
- They will either cut down drastically or close. Bush has already started this process. A sign of his inhumanity is the mistreatment of Veterans at the Walter Read Hospital. In taking a hatchet instead of a scalpel is proof of his lack of humanity Despite his being a veteran, he has betrayed veterans, by voting against more generous benefits for them. His rationale was that all spending has to be cut. In contrast to McCain's crudeness, Obama has taken a much more moderate position and deserves to be elected.
- They better dump McCain and start building. Forget the hatchets and scalpels. This disaster has created over 34,000 wounded who now need medical care, some for life and this psycho is cutting. I'm starting to wonder about his whole story. He forgets his friends awful fast.
