Medical Malpractice

does anyone know if phones are tapped in military va hospitals?

Public Comments

  1. It is illegal to tap phones in the US (including us bases overseas) without a warrant. Warrants are granted on a case by case basis if there is a specific threat. There are no general warrants granted to just randomly tap phone lines. It is against the 4th amendment.
  2. Read the Fourth Amedment. **ADDED** Infantry Wife, you are kinda, well really off on that. A "unsecure or non-secure line" refers to meaning it is not cleared to hold classified conversations. If it is a typical land line being used for non-official buisness (Like a hospital phone line) it has the same Constitutional gaurds as all other land lines. Official lines may be subject to monitoring depending on some factors. A "Secure" Line (Classified phone line) is subject to monitoring at any time under the National Security Act. At most military commands, it is standard to declare how secure the line is when answering the phone. It is has been the standard deal at all my commands.
  3. well unless you're calling a secure telephone line any phone on a military installation or hospital has the chance of being tapped by anyone...which is why when you call some military lines they will answer the phone and state that the line is unsecured...and if you want to speak to someone on a secure line you have to ask for that...
  4. No, they are not.
  5. Dick Cheney would know the answer to your question. Of course, getting him to answer it honestly would be a different story. Did Fox News cover the story that this administration is eavesdropping on calls from US military personnel overseas to their spouses and loved ones back home, and that the really intimate phone calls are being passed around like a Pamela-Tommy Lee video? What do you think? Does this constitute respect for the men and women serving in the armed forces of the United States of America? Wouldn't it appear that such eavesdropping violates the FISA statute and the 4th Amendment to the US Constitution? Isn't it odd that a network as patriotic as Fox can't get worked up about real violations of the US Constitution and of moral decency which affect our military personnel, but they can devote endless hours trying to prove that Obama is unpatriotic because he served on one or two charitable organizations on which Bill Ayers also served? I guess Fox' commitment to the troops doesn't extend to their private lives. I guess Fox' commitment to the US Constitution varies depending upon whether its an election year in America. Nice job Fox and Friends!
  6. Laws pertaining to the rest of the Country pertain to the VA also. Having been in and out of VA hospitals most of my adult life I would have to say no.
