Medical Malpractice

Is part of the reason healthcare is so expensive is that the people at the top command such high salaries?

One Vice President of External Affairs at the University hospital in the Chicago South Side (the poorest area) Who is that? Michelle Obama received a large pay increase-from $121,910 in 2004 to $316,962 in 2005.

  1. No, the largest reason for the high health care prices, is the uninsured and insured having to pick up the slack for the unpaid bills. But then again, if hospitals and Dr's. charged reasonable prices instead of 3 dollars per band-aid, then people would be able to afford to pay the bills.
  2. Biggest reason is the same reason anything is so expensive in the US, LAWYERS! malpractice and other suits have the greatest effect on cost increases.
  3. It ia only a small part of health care cost. People who rise to the top in the financial industry make much more. Most of the money is spent on new drugs an high tech equipment and test and then comes nursing care for people in hospitals. The drug companies and the inventors and owners of the high tech equipment make more money than the ones that work in hospitals.
