Obama sought $1,000,000 in earmarks for the University of Chicago Hospitals. Wife Michelle works for the University of Chicago Hospitals, appointed in spring 2005 as vice president for community and external affairs at the University of Chicago Hospitals. She is now on leave from the job to campaign for her husband. Top campaign adviser and friend Valerie Jarrett is the Chair of the University of Chicago Medical Center Board and also Chair of the Executive Committee of that board. She has also been named Vice-Chair of the University's Board of Trustees. Obama taught at the U. of Chicago law school and the Obama's two daughters attend school there. Do you think this was with the best interest of taxpayers in mind? Or the best interest of his own family and friends? All of Obama's earmarks listed on this link... it's a long list!   9. Earmarks are nothing. They are the only way to get back money stolen from you in the first place. Getting cash back to be spent locally, vs wasted in some federally pushed project. We just had a socialist takeover that will cost taxpayers $5,000,000,000,000.00 (5 trillion) $5,000,000 Million to be exact. But because this was supported by the neocons - which are made of the democrat and republican parties - nobody seems to mind.
  10. Obama got 98 million in earmarks. Palin got 800 million as governor and over $3000 per citizen (far more than the taxes they paid) as mayor.....yet, she's McCain's 'reformer'. Onto what's relevant though.....Obama wouldn't continue the disastorous Bush policies. He'd do like Clinton did....have responsible government, not loan from the Chinese to pay off massive budget deficits (to pay for irresponsible tax cuts) and create GOOD jobs without decreasing wages...as we have seen the past 8 years.

  12. Illinois does get a lot of earmarks. Palin is running as being antiearmarks while accepting the most earmarks per person in the country. Obama is not running an anti ear mark platform. You at least have facts, but they are irrelevant and biased to smear one candidate. In this case given these facts the only honorable candidate.
  13. So answer this..So money went to the University of Chicago Hospitals. This hospital helps people? Educates them? Serves a purpose in the community? What the Hell does a road to an unbuilt bridge to no where cost? Get a grip. Idiot.

  16. So, now your next move should be to get hard copies of all of the times that Senator Obama stood up in his church and asked the congregation to "pray for whatever". Governor Palin asked her church to pray for the "bridge to nowhere", before she changed her mind, but kept the money.
