Why didn't Hillary check out the facts before she spoke of this story?

But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured. “We implore the Clinton campaign to immediately desist from repeating this story,” said Rick Castrop, chief executive officer of the O’Bleness Health SystemLinda M. Weiss, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit hospital, said the Clinton campaign had never contacted the hospital...

4. I watched a clip of the Sheriffs deputy telling her that story. Her campaign verified all that they could, however, HIPPA prevents them from being able to ask much due to patient confidentiality. They had no reason to doubt the Sheriffs Deputy story. For Clintonssake, thank god that a TV station videoed the whole story as Clinton sat and listened.

7. Because as Hillary cried, "this is very personal to me" she wants to be President more than anything and she will do or say just about anything to become the Democratic nominee for that office. Witness her lies about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia. That's not something anyone would ever "misspeak" about or take lightly. She is not to be trusted.

10. The one true honest answer is that she lets her ideology blind her to the truth. She heard this "story" and decided to portray it on the campaign trail even though it hadn't been vetted; and the main reason it hadn't been vetted was supposedly because of privacy issues (apparently laws preventing the disclosure of the individual's name or medical facility without their consent). Some may say the problem is just one in a series of Clinton blunders. I say that, more importantly, it illustrates her true biases. Imagine if a family had a sob story about how high tax rates and socialism in a medical system caused them lack of freedom, ultra-high costs and, ultimately, bankruptcy. (Set aside any pros/cons for now.) The fact is that Hillary Clinton would NOT repeat such a story on the campaign trail because it doesn't fit with her ideology or her preconceived notions.
11. Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar. IF she was sincere about telling this story, she would have confirmed the story first. Since she thinks the American people are stupid, she tells these stories without thinking that anyone will check behind her. Sad.
