- No not that I'vee heard of, though by the time some of those women got out of those disgraceful places it was too late. Makes you want to punch a nun in the nose. Edit: Tas r- it wasn't prostitutes that were put in these places, usually it was women that had been raped that no one would believe who often ended up pregnant as a result, or often innocent young women who had done nothing but glance at a man sent by their family on the the presumption they were promiscuous. These women were beaten and tortured and had their children torn from them. Idiot.
- Weird, there was a woman charged recently with incest involving her son,,are all women bad?
- no they were prostitutes which makes them hoes and hoes are one of the many reasons we have stds and that's why hoes have no rights
- cruel, those nuns are I would be ashamed to be catholic(if i was).
- That happened in Ireland, which means no court is going to go against the Catholic church. You won't see a case against pedophile priests in Ireland, either. Giz
- Abuse always hurts. I was never directly touched by the Magdalene Asylums, but I resent deeply the person who answered that the captive women there were whores. They were, as often as not, innocent of any wrongdoing. Some were simply too beautiful and scared their parents. The movie scared me, because I was adopted from a Catholic infant home (home for unwed mothers, circa 1949). I always felt vulnerable, now I understand some of what I was afraid of!
- I've never heard of anyone suing for St. Magdalene's atrocities. These monsters called themselves nuns. They judged and punished defenseless in their ignorance young ladies for their imaginary sins. The whole concept of abuse, judgment and punishment is completely against Christian beliefs. However, no one cared much to check with a scripture for some kind of justification of their monstrosities. Self-righteous hate of their holier than though judgment destroyed all traces of self esteem and possibility to stand up for their dignity in these poor souls. Besides, most of these girls were completely forgotten by their own families. I believe there was no one strong enough to sue.
