Do hospitals have photographers come in to take pics of the newborns?

I've heard that hospitals have photographers come in and take professional photos of the newborns. My mom said that this was the case when me and my siblings were little. Is this true? What a time-saver that would be!

  1. That sounds a little fancy for the modern birth process. It might be that some hospitals let a sub-contracted service come in and do it and then charge you. My hospital had this roving cart from a store with breastfeeding supplies and a woman with no sense of humor. I'd check and not rely on it.
  2. they did that for me when i was there. but im not sure if all hospitals do it. they took i think four pictures and then you piced the one you liked best, and then you pic what kind you and sizes you want http://www.our365.com/\ thats who did mine.
  3. yes they do! however when they tryed to do my son's photo everytime she took him of me he cryed so she couldnt get a good one but she still takes it and still gives u the preview picture which u can order bigger photos if you like it :)
  4. mine did and then you had the Choice to purchase a photo package... my company was a local professional studio that sent a photographer to the hospital each day with the needed props and lights and everything here is my babys hospital photo.. i think it turned out great http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y205/blondeswimmer127/hospitalpicture.jpg the other hospital in my town though just has the nurses take a pic of the baby laying flat on a bed... so it just depends on the hospital
  5. The hospital pics suck. Even the nurses told us. The NURSES take the pics and put it on a peice of construction paper- either blue or pink and then make whatever package you decide on. Get the pics done at Sears or Walmar- they look MUCH better and will cost you less.
