Whats going on with the old smallpox hospital on Roosevelt Island in NYC?

Are they rebuilding it, stabilizing it or tearing it down? I was down there a few weeks ago and I saw scaffolding.

1. My friend, I'm not sure what the folks who operate the island is going to do with. However, the place is off limits and a portion of the the building has was converted into an an vent/emergency shaft for the subway. Like I said, the area is off limits and this is strictly enforced. Good luck
