Where can a 13 year-old volunteer at a animal hospital or shelter in north carolina?

hey i wanna ask the question over again so people can have more time to answer and i can give more detail. It would be best if it was in Durham or Raleigh and i want to be able to go there without my parents having to stay there with me. make sure my parents DONT have to stay with me because my parents don't like being around animals soo yeah..
