If God never gives you more than you can bear, why are there homeless people, insane asylums and suicides?
Not one of those millions in misery reached out to god?

- BS and Lies!!!
- because of what adam and eve did, sin entered the world. Sin is death
- Because of the choices that they made in thier lives...those people gave up to quickly Oh and to the rude one who said i should be ashamed....i say what i do because i know quite a few people that have been in those situations and admitted to me (some were family) that they just gave up and didn't want to try. And they really didn't try...they just withered away. And you know what ...about half of those people are now christians because they realized that they shouldn't just give up on life because it's a little hard...and they came to know God and are very happy now. So no i am NOT ashamed of myself! I know what i am talking about!
- Because people still have their free agency. You must be new here.
- Some did. There are people who are committed believers who have ended up in each of those positions.
- Oh no, no. They can still bear that. Oh yeah, He;s still in control of that. What these people can't "bear" may be just around the corner. LOL
- He will never give you more than you can bear but He will share the yoke if you let Him. with Him you can bear your circumstances. however, living without Him you open yourself to the methods of the enemy and he will do as he pleases to you and your life. it can be pretty unbearable too, i've been there.
- in the first 10 questions the is 20 different because answers. well heres mine. its quite easy to understand. you have found a major hole in christianity.
- Today, just as every day on this planet, 20,000 kids died of hunger, starvation and Aids. Today is also the day that a person in the R&S section, named "Love not hate", typed "Because of the choices that they made in thier lives...those people gave up to quickly" She should be ashamed of herself. @Love not hate: I have worked in homeless shelters and orphanages, in the poorest countries of this planet. You truly have no clue what you're talking about, really.
- Satan entered their bodies.......and told them there was no HOPE. excuse me Markyyyyyyyy Love not hate was talking about the question at hand . I don't know her just giving a fair shake.
- Actually, that is not even biblical. What is really said is this. 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Cor 10:13 NKJV What that means is that everyone is subject to the same temptations, but He has also provided a way for you to reject the temptation and take the higher road.
- Because god is a lie.
- I agree it is becouse they do not seek God's help.
- Because god doesn't care. It means nothing to him whether we live happy lives or die sad deaths.
- just because God knows you can handle it doesn't mean the individual knows they can, as we are growing up it is the job of the adults around us to teach us how to handle the stresses in life, if those skills are not taught, that person may not even be able to handle a simple broken heart.
- All of the suffering and sorrow should be a red flag to people that there is something really , very wrong in our relationship to God..but people are so busy blaming God that they don't care to step up and take responsibility..And change things..It's very easy to point fingers..It takes strength to make a difference..Shame on us!
- No, God never gives us more than we can bear. If people can come out of the concentration camps and say this .... then being homeless is not much, and the insane ... sometimes I think they are true angels ... it is that the mere humans are afraid of them, and they make our live difficult, so we push them away ... Who said they didn't reach out to us .. but we humans ... pushed them away. As to suicide, this one .... again, maybe they did reach out, but there wasn't another human there for them. What have you done today for these people? So, off they go to God, i hope, ..... because humans will not be compassionate, or just don't have the time in the day to deal with these problems. be well
- Because we have all been put in this world to fulfill a specific job. And even though we can't see it, there's a meaning in everything that happens in this world. It's not for us to understand now. As for a simpler answer, it's because this is earth and s h i t happens on earth. This isn't Heaven!!
- First of all, you need to look at the scripture you are referring to in context.: 1 Cor. 10:13 And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. God is talking about temptation. This scripture is also addressing believers, not unbelievers. Many folks suffer tremendously because of sin in the world. God never said He would take away the effects of sin, which is the suffering people go through in the earth. That's why Jesus came- to give us hope that one day all of that suffering will be over. But God will not allow us to go through temptations that are absolutely impossible for us to resist. He always makes a way out. We just have to learn to say no to temptation. Make sure you are in context when asking questions like this.
- Mat 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. Jesus' family was very poor and I can't help thinking He chose to be a lowly person to experience not only poverty but what it feels like when others more fortunate treat them badly or well. I have a sneaky suspicion the poor who do call upon God will have the greater reward. As for insane asylums and suicides, these are mental conditions that were brought on by whatever circumstances or health problems, many of which could probably have been prevented by timely therapy, love, and prayer. We cannot blame God for our lack in taking up our responsibilities. The verse you quote is for those who call on God and trust Him to help. People in asylums and those contemplating suicide do not do this. What their ultimate outcome will be, only God knows.
- Cindy....this promise is made to God's children, not to everyone. Many of the suicides and those with mental illness have refused to allow God into their lives. Please also realize I am not saying this is true for all of these people as I do know some who were real Christians that have had mental problems. If we could have a broken leg, why not a problem with our brain? Many have these problems because of environmental contamination such as heavy metals in water or food and others because of the willful action of others. As far as homeless goes....even Jesus was homeless but in our society, many are homeless because of others such as by false accusations of domestic violence which forces many out of their homes with just the cloths on their back. Remember, when we are told that God does not give us more then we can bear, it does not mean we will not have problems. In fact Jesus even said "when" we suffer, not if. We are told that if we do follow HIM, we WILL suffer for His name but we are also told that HE will never leave us or forsake us. Sky breeze said: If people can come out of the concentration camps and say this You may find it interesting that Robert Clary as LeBeau from Hogan's Heroes did have A-5714 tatooed on his arm. It was placed on him by Hitler's SS troops in a camp much like Auschwitz. Yet he was able to play a role as a prisoner in a Nazi POW camp. One reason he was able to do this is because Mr Clary said: "If you keep on living your life by hating, you're not achieving anything. "I can not forget what happened, but forgive........is something I probably did because I didn't want to waste my time". http://www.shatterdmen.com/A%205714.htm
- The devil gives you more than you can handle.
- I have read a lot in this R & S section. Reading the christian replies to this question disgusts me more than ever before. You people don't realize anymore what a legitimate answer is. You have been listening to Rush too much and absorbing his circular rhetoric. I can see why you are looking forward to heaven, because there really is no hope for you on earth. You are already half way to heaven, your brain is dead, now all you need to do is wait for the body die.
- Three reasons: We are called upon in Genesis 12:3 to bless others because we are blessed. I am involved in groups that do this constantly, not only some of the time. The Gift of Givers is another group very active in this. So what have the other respondents done today, this week, this month, to help others in a practical manner? The second one is the adage: 'seek first the kingdom of heaven and all shall follow’. I am a living example of this. How many on this forum have got this message out and then helped to make this a practical reality in people's lives? Thirdly, Satan wants mental illness, poverty, break up of marriages and families, suicides etc. Clearly many atheists will help because they are decent people like most but unable to overcome the spiritual environment barriers as are many so-called Christians, because they don’t acknowledge them. God said that mental illness will flourish during the end times. It is up to godly people to get people back to God. I have just left a church that to all intents and purposes did the right thing and I will always be grateful for the spiritual covering received there. But they preached one false issue and that was about barns. They brought people off the street into services to give their lives to the Lord and then just returned them. Farmers scan the seasons, skies and markets and then prepare the lands. The seeds are planted and nourished while the farmer goes to prepare the barns for the harvest. Clearly when harvesting takes place, the crops are stored in the barns safely. Everybody knows that harvested crops rot if left in the field. Where are your barns? Where are your tithes? Where are your blessings?
- I think that is a misinterpretation. I think God certainly allows you to take on far more than you can bear. If you could do it on your own, why would you need Him???
