1. well in South America there might be something important like a cure to their problem in South America in the rain forest, but since people are destroying the rain forest there might not be a cure anymore. it really depends on the problem
2. allot of rainforest plants are used to make medicines which are used in hospitals around the world. 25% of medicines used in the western world use ingredients from rainforest plants.
