Why are there mortuaries in insane asylums?

I know the obvious answer - because people die. But why in an insane asylum? Is this incase the patients commit suicide?

1. It's purely because it's a hospital.

3. Its a hospital. People die when they get old. There wouldn't be very many suicides there, if any.
