What are the volunteer works in hospitals?

To get the hospital experience which is essential for medical school entrance, how can I find volunteer works in hospitals? What kind of works are those? And how can I apply? Can anyone please tell me?

1. the best thing to do would be to check out the site for the hospital you want to volunteer for, they usually have a section for volunteers. i did the same for Queen Elizabeth http://www.queenelizabeth.nhs.uk/aboutus.php?pagelevel=2&pageid=81 and now i have to fill in some forms, make sure my vaccination is up to date etc. they ask you which ward you want to do, paediatrics/neonatal/adults. adults would be best as you'd get more experience because you'll only be playing with children on pediatrics hope this helps
