What should I do to become a pharmacy tech in a hospital(NYC)?
From what I researched you don't have to go to school because it's a waste of money. Is this true. So should I start at Walgreens. I would like to work at a hospital but I think I should start at a retail first since they require experience from a hospital and is it in demand(retail and hospital)?Any advice?

- It is a law that all pharmacy techs now have to be certified. Check into your local community college guidance counselors office for the necessary classes.
- The laws regulating pharm techs vary greatly by state. Some states only require that the tech be of legal working age and others require certification. Most states do require a high school diploma. Hospitals like to see experience and certification. Starting at Walgreens or similar place is a good start. Right now, the demand for techs has taken a nose dive. When the economy goes bad, tech hours are the first to be cut.
