What are modern day Insane Asylums like?

So, I've heard all the horror stories of what they used to be like way back when, but I'm wondering are there still places like them? And what are the asylums like today if not?

3. . I don't really know, and don't want o find out!!! But...I just watched an episode of "House" where he was in a mental hospital. (I don't think they call them asylums anymore do they?) It was still "crazy" but patients were controlled with medications. Don't know if that portrayal was close to what it is now??? .

5. Insane Asylums no longer exist, like Mental Hospitals/Institutions. Modern medicine treats people in Psychiatric Hospitals or wards and they are little different to normal hospital wards or residential care homes.
