How hard is it to obtain a medical record for a law suit?
I may be getting a job collecting medical records for a law office that deals with personal injury cases. From reading between the lines, it must be difficult, but is impertive to the case.

- Contact your state attorneys office in your area then the head of the state if that doesnt work .Then go to court .Its against the law and niether the Federal or State governement have the right to deny you access to your records .Its your right .You can go to the hosptial and go to the records dept file out a release for your medical fills. If its being done by the Social Security office you gonna have to take it to small claims court of even take it to Federal Court check the laws in your area you may even be entitled to a decent settlement if you can prove all the calls ,record everything people adn times cell phone conversation have a relative of close friend present .With money you will get it not a fact its a promise ..
- Not hard at all. All you need is a release signed by the person whose records you want. Simple as that. Or, a lot harder. Get a court order.
- Very easy. If your law office is defending a person/company against a lawsuit that alleges injury, then you will get those records during the discovery/disclosure phase. You may even request that the plaintiff see one of your own doctor's for another opinion. If your law office is representing the injured party, then all you have to do is have your client signed a medical release form & those records will be furnished to you. If you are seeking medical records of a relatively uninvolved (not principle) party, then you would have to request the records. If they are unwillingly to provide you with the records or to grant you a release for those records, then you would have to subpoena them (if the judge agrees that the records are of probative value).
- It is very simple to get. You have to get the release signed by the concerned person. Else you have to take permission from the court
