know places in new york/ jersey that gives a tour of places that wld make a person grateful for what they have?

I wanted to take my family and friends to visit a place where they would leave feeling much more grateful for what they have. Does anyone know of any places in New York/New Jersey that offer tours to homeless shelters hospitals etc? The more places the better. Thanks!
