- As far as good hospital, and bad hospital, it really depends on what you are going for. If you need heart surgery, St Boniface is a centre of excellence, one of the best in Canada. Neurosurgery? Health Sciences Centre. Organ transplants? Health Sciences Centre. Orthopaedic surgery? Seven Oaks, Concordia, or Grace. Mental health? Victoria or Health Sciences Centre. Urgent care, not life-threatening? Misericordia, which is a care centre, no longer a hospital. Childrens' problems including emergency? Children's Hospital. General emergencies? Whichever is nearest. We have pretty much any care available in Winnipeg that is available anywhere else. Far more important is a doctor, unless you are planning on using the ER as your regular doctor, which is silly.
