If Republicans dislike Socialism, why are so many seeking health care at VA hospitals?

I have met a lot of them in VA hospitals... I know Veterans earned this benefit and I will defend the Veterans rights to all veterans benefits. But, I do not like reading comments from Republicans who classify VA hospitals as a socialist program...

8. There is a fundamental difference between an earned benefit and socialized medicine. The Republicans you are meeting at VA hospitals are VETERANS. We have earned the right to be treated at the VA because of our service to this nation. Socialism (or Obamacare, you pick) would seek to provide this benefit to everyone, regardless of their contribution (or lack thereof) to America. I think you may be looking at this a little backwards. Instead of asking why so many Republicans are seeking care at the VA, you should be asking why so many vets are Republicans. Could it be because they understand the cause of freedom and the sacrifice required to secure it?
9. So if the place you work offers you a paid vacation, paid sick days, paid insurance as benefits of working there you should turn it down? I have to wonder how dumb some people can be. People also pay into SS what time they work. If you pay for something or if its a benefit of your job its NOT SOCIALISM. I don't know what makes that so hard to understand.
10. VA hospitals don't ask if a person is rep or dem. Only, did you serve. They served, paid a terrible price, just so people here could ask stupid questions.

14. I'm not sure where you read that republicans compared VA hospitals to socialism, I'm guessing most likely you read that VA hospitals are a good example of why the government should not run health care. Because when the government runs anything quality and efficiency generally degrades.
15. I think military personnel deserve free health care. Not that it's actually free, they did put themselves at great risk for the country.

ALL vets earned those benefits and if you checked things out you'd know that is a very socialist type program and has flaws, it's a shame that men & women who serve their country get denied treatment because the government they served is running their health care.
