Can arz law affect medical personnel because it specifies that anyone who "harbors" an illegal immigrant can be fined ? "One interpretation is that health care providers in Arizona will need to ask for a passport before seeing certain patients

  1. No
  2. Harbors Means If You Have An ILLEGAL ALIEN Living In Your Home Or If You RENT (An Apartment Or House) To An Illegal Alien Medical Personnel Are Bound By The Hippocratic Oath They Are Professionally Obligated To Treat Medical Emergencies NO QUESTIONS ASKED But As Soon As The Patient Is Stable An Investigation May Ensue If A Medical Practitioner Were To Treat An ILLEGAL ALIEN In A Non-Emergency Capacity There MIGHT Be A Provision To File Charges But I Think That Situation (Non-Emergency) Would Be Extremely Difficult To Prove That Would Fall Into Providing Social Services To An ILLEGAL ALIEN
  3. I don't think that providing medical care falls under the definition of "harbor"
  4. You don't have to ask for any citizenship documents to treat a person. There is not a question.. If you are treating someone you know to be an illegal alien, you are not 'harboring' the fugitive, and he/she IS a fugitive. However, if you know the person to be an illegal alien, and you somehow charge some level of Government for that treatment, you have committed fraud.
  5. Take a look at the one that call it self "america parrot" What a bigot He is not an american patriot. I am. illegal jose is illegal but will become and american soon. To answer the question. illegal jose has been to hospital many times and had free health care paid by taxpayer money and what is not paid Jose illegal pays with his welfare money. Caution: Sarcasm humer above, except about the part of that one calling itself "american parrot"
  6. No, because medical personnel are legally required to give medical assistance to anyone coming in for emergency treatment. Does the require require every McDonalds to ask for an ID before selling a person a burger? however, assuming the law does go into effect it will be interesting to see just how widely the word "harbor" will be interpreted.
  7. Can't see LEO's or Arizona arresting medical personnel for treating illegals. That would be detrimental to what they are trying to do and get the state even more bad press..What may happen as the problem arises is require medical personnel to alert police. Not sure if they would because of the nature of their profession.Better to concentrate on street enforcement and leave that one alone.
