Do new York hospitals hire ADN?

I'm finishing up my associates nursing and I really hope to move to new York, but then the hospitals say BSN preferred. I'm like really? How rude and discouraging and discriminating is that. With the nurse shortage today...they still have the ounce of choosy choosy going on...

I'm in the SAME seat...haha..there is NO nursing shortage..not in NYC at least..you have to remember..the jamaicans , africans, and filipinos have filled in those nursing spots...good luck with landing a position. I know a few BSN grads who have been searching for employment for 6 months and haven't even landed an interview. Another lady I know has 15 years experience..was laid off..and it took her 6 months JUST to find a cruddy part-time, lower paying, position..as if nursing didn't pay low enough already. :(
