If God never gives anyone more than they can handle, they why are there people in insane asylums?

I always hear Christians say God will never give you more than you can handle. Well then how do you explain people in insane asylums, who have gone crazy because of all the terrible things that happened in their life?

  1. That saying is false, on many different levels.
  2. Because God occasionally gets bored and requires amusement.
  3. Free will, duh. It was their choice to go completely insane..
  4. Because god is evil and eats the sh*t of dead dogs. Either that or there is no god.
  5. Christians use a lot of cop out lies to get people to stay christian. I believe there are times when "god" gives people too much. Im a Pagan Agnostic, ex christian.
  6. That's their way of handling it.
  7. It is a person's choice to go insane or have cancer.
  8. Because there is no such thing as "God". He is an awfully vain one to make us in his image, eh? Awfully cruel to leave us in this mess,eh? The "free will" answer doesn't cut it either. Not when totally innocent and undeserving people and children and babies get hurt or worse.
  9. +++++God never gives His children more than they can handle ! Unless you belong to God, you are a child of the devil. They make their own evil chioces in their life. You reap what you sew. GOT IT ??
  10. Saint Dympna is the Patron Saint of insanity, mental illness, nervous disorders, neurological disorders, depression and epilepsy. Dymphna was fourteen when her mother died. Damon is said to have been afflicted with a mental illness, brought on by his grief. He sent messengers throughout his town and other lands to find some woman of noble birth, resembling his wife, who would be willing to marry him. When none could be found, his evil advisers told him to marry his own daughter. Dymphna fled from her castle together with St. Gerebran, her confessor and two other friends. Damon found them in Belgium. He gave orders that the priest's head be cut off. Then Damon tried to persuade his daughter to return to Ireland with him. When she refused, he drew his sword and struck off her head. She was then only fifteen years of age. Dymphna received the crown of martyrdom in defense of her purity about the year 620. She is the patron of those suffering from nervous and mental afflictions. Many miracles have taken place at her shrine, built on the spot where she was buried in Gheel, Belgium. Prayer: Hear us, O God, Our Saviour, as we honor St. Dymphna, patron of those afflicted with mental and emotional illness. Help us to be inspired by her example and comforted by her merciful help. Amen.
