Medical Malpractice

Why is it legal to allow patients in asylums to have sex among each other?

I just found about this today! I'm talking about people who have impulses that would refrain from under normal conditions! How could this be? This is unethical and inhumane! Franky, I believe that offering the patients cigarettes should also be reconsidered. I'm taking about people who do things against their will and trust that someone will help control them against impulses!!! But, you people are comparing this to so call learning disabilities? Wow! There is no ethics in the legal field.

  1. It's legal, because they're not slaves or guinea pigs.
  2. These decisions are made by Psychiatrists and other medical professionals. Certain Mental Health Care Facilities have specific rules put in place regarding those in their care that others do not. Special considerations are generally taken into account based on what is or is not allowed regarding intimacy among those whom they care for on a case by case basis and these policies vary from facility to facility. You can rest assured in knowing however that any issues regarding violent sexual assault which occur in government run facilities are taken seriously both for obvious personal reasons as well as practical reasons(they would get shut down/lose their funding and employment etc). Hopefully this answered your question, Alice
