Medical Malpractice

Would you vote for a person involved in the largest Medicare fraud case in US History?

Everyone knows we, the taxpayers, are spending $100's of billions in waste, fraud, and abuse in the Medicare program. Rick Scott, CEO of Columbia HCA, committed "the biggest Medicare fraud case in U.S. history (that) ended with the hospital giant Columbia/HCA paying a record $1.7 billion in fines, penalties and damages." (Sun Sentinel, 5/20/10). Rick Scott didn't care, as he profited to the tune of $300 Million. Last evening, Rick Scott won the Republican Nomination for Governor of Florida. Three questions: 1. Would you have voted for this person? 2. How much will Rick Scott personally profit from becoming Governor? 3. Is this what Republicans stand for? "Rick Scott, who ran a company involved in the nation's largest Medicare fraud case, wants to be Florida's governor" http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/2010-05-20/news/fl-rick-scott-governor-hca-20100520_1_medicare-fraud-case-hospitals-in-el-paso-hospital-giant-columbia Sorry, Bob J... the Clinton's were found Not Guilty, but, nice try. Tom Jr: He was the CEO of the Company, that makes him responsible, which is why the Board voted to kick him out. But it is good to know that you will absolve him of any responsibility: under your logic, if he became Gov of Fl, he won't be responsible for anything here either.

  1. Just because someone was involved in a company that did something doesn't mean he did it. I don't think he is a great choice but the other choices are even worse. Also look at the fraud that Hillary and Bill were involved with durning the White Water nonsense. That didn't stop Democrats.
  2. 1. I didn''t vote for Scott. 2. Impossible to quantify how much he will profit. 3. I'm not a Republican but I'm definitely conservative and he doesn't stand for me. He doesn't even sound sincere, much like obama.
  3. Rick Scott was never charged with any wrongdoing or crime. Your question, which states "Rick Scott...committed the biggest Medicare fraud case in U.S. history..." is potentially libel.
  4. I'm not from Florida. I promise to not vote for him. Happy?
  5. Obviously he was never found guilty for this since he's running for office. If I lived in FL I would have extreme reservations about voting for him but in the end if he wasn't even charged with a crime can you really hold all of that against him?
  6. I was going to post this today. It is incredible that here people are complaining about how much the government spends on Medicare, yet they vote for the type of criminal who is stealing billions of dollars from the taxpayers through Medicare fraud. Florida is a hot bed of Medicare supplier fraud just now and thank goodness the Obama people have been investigating and prosecuting. How this guy skated by with a $1.7 billion fine I dont know. If that was his fine, you can imagine how many billions he scammed Medicare for ! It is beyond my comprehension how they could not know in Florida when I know. Are they insane or just totally pinheads? Every election Florida manages to screw something up since 2000. Whats with that state?
