Im writing an independant fiction about people in NYC but I live in Australia. I need help?

I have several questions: 1) What are the names of some NYC Hospitals? 2) How would someone get there from New Jersey? 3) At 2am how would one get from NJ to these hospitals and how long would it take? Please help and don't skimp on the details. Also I don't understand the whole miles thing since I go by kilometres so please take that into consideration. New Jersey is too big to say how long the trip will take without departure point. You'll need a setting city like Jersey City or Weehawken.
2. 1st rule of writing is write what you know. I suggest you place your story in Australia.
3. I agree with the person who said write what you know. There is no way you can learn enough about NYC to write convincingly about it.
