  1. Unfortunately, unless your new husband retired from the military or you also served, I believe the VA hospital will only be for him and not you or your family.
  2. they will take care of u, don't worry.
  3. Only the servicemember is eligible for care at a VA facility . As a family member you may eligible for healthcare coverage through the Tricare program . Tricare covers eligible healthcare expenses at civilian and military facilities.
  4. Sorry, unless you were in the miliatry, no.
  5. Only use the VA hospital as a last resort.... it's government run with doctors that have no incentive to care... my boss's dad and my step-grandpa both died because of poor care from VA hospitals in different states
  6. I wouldn't hold my breath. The VA hospitals are underfunded, and overburdened with the vast number of soldiers returning with serious injuries, missing limbs, and PTSD.
  7. I am a retired vet, and I use the VA facilites all the time. They do not offer services to non vets. So the wife or child of a vet would not be able to use the VA hospital or clinics. I have had excellent care from our local VA clinic and when I needed health care not available I was sent to a regional hospital and again, I received excellent care. The VA is not the same VA that my grandfather used. If you are married to a retired military person, you might be able to use the military medical facilities but not the VA. Check with your local military installation.
  8. I dont think you can but i could be wrong. My ex husband got out on medical discharge and is concidered a veteran and we couldnt use the VA hospital. It could be different in your situation though.
  9. No, you sure won't be able to use the VA hospital, however if he is over 50% disabled you will be able to pay for TRICARE health at the single rate as his wife. Contact the local TRICARE office near you. creoledi.. nailed it!
  10. Here is information on eligibility and benefits. http://www.va.gov/hac/forbeneficiaries/champva/champva.asp The spouse or child of a veteran who has been rated permanently and totally disabled for a service-connected disability.
  11. sorry, only Vets and retirees may use the VA system. dependants are inelgible.
