Medical Malpractice

Does anyone feel the U.S. should have Socialist Medical and Law Fields?

Right now the cost of medical insurance is out of control and if every American payed into it the same as we are now it would be cheaper and as far as Law shouldn't it all be the same for all people not just the ones who can Buy Justice. I'm sort of on both sides of the fence the justice system is broken and public defenders aren't the answer. there are a lot of rich people that are guilty out there that have stolen alot more money than all guilty poor people.

  1. no.
  2. Agreed. We don't pay for the fire dept. (which is an example of socialized services provided for citizenry). Higher prices doesn't mean high quality.
  3. Yes to the Health Care, it is a basic human right in 2007. I am unsure on the legal case, although I am a paralegal. I would have to think about hwo that would play out.
  4. Right yor are sir! everyone deserves healthacre and justice.. but americans are againts that.. this is a capitalist country- duh
  5. Nope, I'll pay for it thanks
  6. There are court appointed lawyers for those who can not afford to retain an attorney already.
  7. No. I'm always astonished ot hear people suggesting that, "What we really need, is to let Fidel Castro run our health indusrty!" Our problems stem more from TOO much government regulation, not too little.
  8. Why? Doesn't Cuba offer these already? Just be prepared to rot in jail if you ever disagree with the instructor... Look at public education, probably as close to a socialistic industry as you can find in the US. In some places (usually those with money!), it works pretty well. It muddles along producing so-so results elsewhere. Where there is lots of poverty, particularly in inner cities, the results are horrible. This is as good as it gets. Public housing, another socialistic concept, is an outright disaster. People came to the US for the opportunity to make a better life, not to have it handed to them. Socialism (forced charity) sounds great and is well-intended, but it inevitably attracts waste, fraud, and abuse. Hard-working Americans tend to resent the concept of having their pockets picked to subsidize those unwilling to work. Think of what has become of SSI, a program that now provides the primary income source for many substance abusers because they are "disabled". And remember, any government program will cost far more and save far less than whatever its sponsors/supporters claim.
  9. NOOOOOOOO! looks good on paper but as soon as the gov. is paying for yr health care next step is telling you how to live your life to keep health care costs low. we sell our body's to the gov if national health care is put in. I can see and understand the attraction to it but we have to look at other possible consequences to this
  10. No, government intervention is what broke it in the first place. Take government out of education and health care and see how much better they become. I say take all lawyers out of Congress because all they do is hopelessly obscure basic facts and line their own pockets. What we need is a big dose of common sense.
  11. If you don't think there are too many lawsuits, you definitely would if lawyers were FREE! I don't want to pay the taxes necessary to pay for the same amount of health care. Remember it takes $7 in taxes to get $1 in benefits back. The less the government does for me the more money I'll have!
