  1. There is the Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago, here is the website: http://www.childrensmemorial.org/ The best way is to contact them, and ask them if they have a volunteer program, or if that you can just come and visit the kids, etc. I am the President of the Sunshine Club For Children. And we support The Demelza House Children's Hospice, in Kent. England. Although I have never been there, I am supporting them from here. Every month I send them boxes of toys, books, games, arts and crafts, etc. The best thing to do is that if you do visit them, to be cheerful, and happy, and make them smile and laugh. You may also like to bring small toys, books, or other gifts that they make like. The children at my hospital love stickers, so I send them a whole big package of it, every month. You can bring along little things to share with them. The best thing you can do is contact the hospital itself and ask them. I was glad that I did. And I hope to one day visit England, and visit the hospital I support. :) Good Luck, and it will be a rewarding experience for you.
  2. What a wonderful thing for you to want to do. It is very rewarding. I did some volunteer work at University Hospital in Ann Arbor Michigan, and it was on the children's cancer floor. You will get attached to some of the kids, so you know that all of them will not make it. That is the hard part. I did have to take a couple of classes before I could volunteer though. But every hospital is different. Just call them and ask about it. I am sure they will be glad to help you, and I do know that most hospital can always use volunteers. I hope you get what you want. Let me know how it works out. I am not sure about just going up and visiting with them, because some of the kids only have family members. So there again you would have to call and ask.
