- If it is your ambition to be a lawyer then be one. Ask yourself this would you be happy as a doctor?
- Its important to follow what interests you. Itz a very competitive World so be choosy...afterall its your own career. That thing which does not interest you ....do not ever opt for it even if your parents are encouraging bec its you whos gonna doin all the hard work, study, write exams, etc. not your parents ...they are there to guide you and bless you in whatever you chose to do. Try speaking to them and convincing them and never get confused or get emotional. Reasoning helps. Good luck!
- NO! Do not do medicine simply because your parents want you to. You have to have a very keen interest in medicine in order to study it otherwise you'll find yourself making large mistakes when it comes to studying it and when it comes to dealing with people. Also, medicine requires working long hours and you'll want to suicide if you're doing something you hate for so long. There are enough people (at least in the UK) wanting to study medicine so I think give the people that want to do it the chance. Also, just because you score high in science, doesn't mean you'll make a great doctor. You have to enjoy studying science to become a successful doctor. Follow your ambitions and you'll become a success. Besides, you can't treat your family if you're a doctor... so you can't really become their doctor but you would be trained to help them I guess.
- YOU want to do law, so YOU do LAW. Your PARENTS want a doctor, THEY can study medicine. simple hey?
- Medical is BETTER cuz doctors can poison cops,so they wont get busted...
- On the other hand--there is a need for Medical doctors who understand the legal system... You could become a doctor with specialized legal knowledge--maybe you will help solve the lawsuit epidemic in the health care field!!
- As a matter of fact, you can eventually do both if you "desire" to do so. ( I know several with degrees in both areas), but the main question is " What do YOU want to do with the rest of your life?" I once heard a gentleman on television say that you don't necessarily have to love every day of your job, but it certainly helps if you at least like what you are doing. Nothing makes for a longer day - let alone life - if you HAVE to go to work. If you are good in the sciences, but love law, you may specialize in malpractice law or something to do with medical patents. There are many area of medicine which need legal guidence. As for being the doctor of your parents. I am a doctor's daughter and although you might have a knowledge of medicine you would not be the one caring for your parents. As a lawyer you could make sure that they have the best medical care possible. Besides, it is not the responsibility of children to base their life on what is best for the parent. It is the parent's responsibility to base their life on what is best for their child. If your parent's love you they should want you to do what makes you happiest. Follow your dream - wherever it takes you - and things will turn out fine. You have my blessings and wish for a great life!
