why study medical law?

- Medical law is a very lucrative field, albeit often abused. Some lawyers do a hell of a lot of good in medical law. When there is real medial malpractice, they help compensate those that have been wronged by doctors, surgeons, hospitals, etc. That being said, there are a huge amount of malpractice suits that are built on false pretenses and based on greed (both of the client and the lawyer). A good example would be suing a radiologist because the chemotheraphy was unable to force the cancer into remission. That's bad luck and not malpractice, but you'd be surprised how many doctors get hurt because of this. So why study medical law? I guess you could do it to help people who have been harmed, disfigured, or lied to by bad doctors and hospitals. Or you could do it to profit off of those who try and help people and give money to those who don't deserve it. The choice is yours!
- WHY NOT??
