Top Hospitals in New York City for giving birth?

I want to have my baby in a top of the line hospital, where we'll get excellent care. Help

1. "top of the line" doesn't always mean better care....its the midwives/nurses who make it a great hospital, not the doctors so pick one with good midwives my girlfriend just gave birth at the 'best' private hospital where we live and we went to see her and it is so much crappier there, than at my public hospital. They didn't even pick up on the fact that her baby was breech or tell her basic things you should know after a c-section. All that money wasted......
2. well, children are born everyday at all the hospitals and are in good health and get all the care they need. you don't have to have top of the line hospitals , after all they r all governed and maintained by people and they all make mistakes. just ask ur friends and ur doctors opinion and ask if there is any hospital nearby where u shouldn't go because of their high rate of mistakes or misbehaviour. 3. Do you care more about your baby's care or the status symbol of where you give birth? Look for a hospital with good midwives and doctors you feel comfortable with, and where you can assist in your own birthing plan and process. Good luck to you and your baby.
