hotels help in new york?

I have to take my son to morgan stanley childrens hospital in new york, ny what are some towns near by that i can stay in even in jersey no more than about 1/2 hr away i'm not paying a fortune to stay in the city not worth it. thank you all in advance

1. You should contact the hospital's social services department to see whether they have housing for families of patients [e.g. some hospitals have Ronald McDonald houses]. I just did a search on "Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital". Their website is childrensnyp.org, click on "For Patients, Families and Visitors", then "Special Accommodations". The phone # for the Social Services department is 212-342-0657. There is a RM house and the website says that local hotels also donate rooms for a few nights for families of patients.
