According to the federal law can i use medical marijuana and be on diversion at the same time?

According to the federal law can i use medical marijuana and be on diversion at the same time? I was told by someone that i couldnt but i dont know if i believe that because it will be prescribed to me. Can anyone help me

1. Under Federal Law there is no prescription, it is still 100% illegal. Not that they do anything. It is legal in California with a prescription (actually takes a bit more then that), but it doesn't help you with an Federal offenses. I have no idea what "diversion" is, at least in this context.
2. According to US Federal law, there is NO SUCH THING as medical marijuana. Therefore, the answer is NO. What was the rest of your question about?
